Fred Willard R.I.P.

Terrific comedy actor.

One of his funniest deliveries from “Best in Show”, playing the on TV commentator at the dog show - “To think that in some countries these dogs are eaten.”.

We will miss you Fred.

From the time he was on Fernwood Tonight or Mary Hartman (I don't remember when I first saw him), Fred Willard always played Fred Willard. But he was brilliant at being that guy.

He was even in one or two Stargate episodes as the father of Vala, the hilariously badly behaved character played by Claudia Black. Same character, but it worked as her con-man dad.

I couldn't have said it any better. His deadpan humor and ability to appear oblivious to what was really going on was priceless.

Last night NBC aired a 1978 episode of SNL that he hosted. Devo was the musical guest.
