Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Exactly.. some high quality movies have explored this phenomenon of elitist *******s in sport.. "Caddyshack" (Golf), "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story", "The Karate Kid", "Point Break" (Surfing), "The Big Lebowski" (bowling). It's nothing new.

Folks, he hasn't even started admiring his own quads or rear end yet. And his own farts, don't get me started ...

OP still hasn't told us how he discovered that people are arrogant without actually having any interaction with them

I guess the real arrogance is all these comments spouted out in response to the trolling.....

On my ride yesterday I stopped to help someone who had a flat tire, gave them my only spare tube, helped them install and inflated with my frame pump. In order to make it home when I was supposed to (my wife was waiting for me as we had plans), my ride transformed from a nice/casual Sunday ride to a heads-down/haul ass time trial to make it home in time. No return of any waves on the way home, but if the OP had seen me without knowing the situation, I suppose I would have been labeled as a snob/elitist...

I was riding out to my preferred road to do the prescribed intervals, so I wasn't really hauling the mail. The light I was stopped at turned green, I took off, and as I got halfway through the intersection, some guy on a bike wearing a t-shirt, and Bermuda shorts passed me with about three inches to spare. Either way, I just assumed he was the typical retrogrouch, that thinks anyone that may dress for efficiency on a bike, is a snob. I smiled to myself at his total lack of aero understanding, and went about my business.

Sometimes people are in the pain cave. Even if it's 10mph on the flat.

So emboldened by the advice i got from you, i topped up the tubeless sealant (Muc Off is all i could find for now) on my wheels. Nothing has assploded yet. Am gonna stick to tubes on my road bikes (I get maybe 1 flat a year), but as a little learning project, am going to convert my Lynskey to tubeless soon.
