Upgrade freehub budy HG to micro spline body

Hi guys

I'm thinking to upgrade my current groupset ( a mix of Tourney/Altus/Acera) to deore m6000 groupset but since the new deore m5100-12 speed groupset was released a few days ago, I'm planning to buy the m6100 instead

Since deore m5100 12 speed cassette uses the micro spline freehub body, I want to know if it is possible to replace my current freehub body (shimano FH-RM35) with micros spline body. Or, I have to buy a new Freehub which accepts micro spline ?

Thanks for your help

That's a really good point but that will limit the OP to a 11t smallest cog, rather than the new 10-51t put out by Shimano.

I was thinking of doing the same thing because I have the Sunrace 12 speed 11-50t but going to a 10-51t would allow me to switch from a 30t to a 28t chainwheel, resulting in a little higher top gear and my low gear would be pretty damn low (good for climbing because I wouldn't be in my largest cog for as long, if ever).

Mind you, I have reallly big 29x3.0 tires so takes a lot of gear reduction to kick those guys over.

Thanks for your answer. I was searching that cassette but its kind of expensive (about $80-$100) and its smallest cog is still 11t.

Exactly, my current lowest and highest range are: 1.74 and 8.88 meters (wheel diameter: 2.32 m) respectively with my 3x8 configuration so, I want to keep a good high range and have a better low range with the 1 x 12 configuration of the m6100 groupset.

Back to the original question, is it possible to replace the regular HG freehub body (FH-RM35) with the new micro spline body ? what do you guys think ? or, Should I go for the m6000 2x10 (28-38t) instead ?
