The big Opaque Green Sport Tourer was part of the package deal. It's been updated with Shimano 105 9speed equipment including a triple crank. That stuff will be coming off and put on something else, and more period appropriate parts put back on Big Green.

trash day score! After a little research (please correct me if i'm wrong) it appears to be a "sears screamer"
its definitely rough and parts seem to be scares and expensive, it probably wont be a "restoration" but maybe a "build up" project.
I defiantly think its cool and I have been wanting an old school cruiser project
Im not really sure what its worth, but it might be a cool collectors item once its built up

Falcon - Ernie Clements???
I liked the orange. I liked the seat and I wondered if that there label indicates some kind of Reynolds tubing. I don't thInk it is high end because of stamped dropouts but worth the $30 CAD. Any thoughts about age... Is this 531?

the seat is worth the $30. Rest is gravy.

Reynolds sticker looks like plain gauge, like some Falcons I've seen.

That is Kool, Lots of work there but it looks pretty complete. Pretty sure it was built by Murray, I would have loved to find it myself, I have a Murray Eliminator 3spd project I will get back to one of these days. When I was truing the rear wheel the dish was off bad I redished the wheel which by the time I was done spokes were sticking thru the nipples, ground the extra off put the wheel on the bike and it was way off center, wtf I thought. Turns out I forgot to install the special washer three speeds use on the drive side axle which is why the dish was off so bad in my stand, now I need to respoke the wheel lol.

i got my bike all torn down for a rebuild and it seems someone had done a spray paint job on it which is flaking off, I am hoping i can get that layer off. I can see the original paint underneath which is yellow that fades to red in the rear of the bike which matches the sears screamers. I don't know to much about the muscle type sifters either, Its going to be an interesting journey

These are awesome!
I still ride mine.Great, smooth steel ride. Yes, the pedals are worth something. The seat and rim are not original though/ The seat says "turbo" on it and is perforated. The Arraya RM-20 rims for this bike have a gold/brown anodizing job. Hope you fixed it up!

At the thrift today and scored a perfect, new pair of Pedro tire levers for 2 usd!
If you are near Avondale Estates, GA., Second Life Thrift has a pair of Aero Bars for 9 bucks! I could not determine the make, but the bars and attachments are clean and without scratches, the pads look good....

Was out for a pre-dinner walk with the wife and spied a bike out in an alley trash pile. Even without glasses, I could tell it was a road bike.
The homeowner was in the garage and I asked if he was throwing it out. He said yes and that he would have keep all the parts if he thought that anyone one would have wanted it.
Looks like a 1987 Schwinn Prelude. Tenex tubing. Looks to be in decent shape, but it was getting dark and I don't have my glasses. Looks like it only needs wheels, a seat and post (plus a nut for the rear brake.
Lucky grab, since my neighborhood is ruthlessly patrolled by scrappers.

Finally got this put back together. Mercury retrograde and "Covad" were conspiring against me.
Had the wheelset, buy had to buy a 26.6 seatpost and 6-speed freewheel. First seller sent a junk freewheel, second seller sent a 7-speed, but made it right by sending me a 6-speed.
Had to change the brake calipers and redo the brake cabling. Seatpost binder was frozen and snapped. Starting to remember why I stopped flipping.....
All-in-all, happy with how it turned out.

Picked this up at the local thrift store for cheap.. really cheap. 2000 Mongoose Pro DX 10.5 It has a Titanium frame and looks to be mostly all original. I know its a new bike in C&V. but i know people here could appreciate a Mongoose and a TI frame. its a 18" frame which is small for me , but its the first Ti frame i have owned. Not sure what im gonna do with it yet either flip it or hold onto it for my Son.

Scored an organ donor for the '86 Super Sport frame set I got from fellow member Rotten a couple years ago. An '87 Super Sport with lots of rust and blistered paint but pretty decent Shimano 600 Tri Color group.
The frameset I got from Rotten .....
The donor bike......
It has a lot of rust and blistered paint but the components should clean up very nicely.

Nice! The Prologue is high end Schwinn, and yours has the "sexy lady" sticker and what I think is rare, a Pearl Izumi saddle (those are nice. I've got one I'm hanging onto.) That Novara is also pretty sweet, as it's the result of Scot Nicol (Ibis) designing bikes for REI. It's very similiar to some of the Ibis bikes of the time.

Thanks, i was really suprised to find it, i have read also the frame was made by Sandvik. These things seem pretty rare a google image search does not bring up much about them.
