Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe so but screening is totally necessary to prevent crazy, oblivious or malicious people from contaminating public health facilities. Too many people just don't give a ****.

Have you had a paloma? We make them with tequila, lime, a little salt in the mix and grapefruit soda. Tastes margarita-like but better in my opinion.

Going to be 100 today and the people I am meeting are starting at 7:00 so I had to get up at 5:00. I'm programmed for 6:00 and don't tolerate sleep deprivation. Unfortunately my neighbors had a party last night until 2:30 Having a sub-woofer 10 feet from my window makes sleep impossible. I even tried to sleep in the car but the thumping was there, too.
I finally asked them to turn it down at 12:30 and they did, so then it was just low music with laughing and screaming.
I don't know how well I'll ride but I'm looking forward to a nap.

The dirty little secret about anesthetics, particularly fast-acting ones, is that they are fat-soluble and redistribute rapidly to body fat where they are inaccessible to detoxification. They then leach slowly back into the bloodstream, keeping us woozy for days or even weeks.

It means a lot for these people to make you feel confident and secure before going into a procedure. Even so, my BP pre-surgery was 156 / 77 compared to normal doctor's visits where I'm usually around 115 / 72 or thereabouts. Anxiety is real. lol

Pain is almost non-existent, I've been staying ahead of it really well with the prescribed Percocets every 4 hours.

It was a pretty hi-tech OR, I got a good look at the robot they use but regretted I couldn't take my own photo. Here's a stock photo of the setup.

My robot was a later model, shown here in a famous demonstration peeling a grape.

Wow, I did not know that. Propofol is most commonly used lately.

Isn't the standard 1200km brevet a 90 hour limit? And that's *only* 745 miles.

Everything's bigger in Texas!

My lesson from today's ride is that it's doable for me if the roads are smooth, not so much if it's brutal chipseal.

Yeah, they’ve been terrible on delivery front for quite a while now. (Even before the COVID-19 issues).
