Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think it might have something to do with the tires being 23 mm. I just put a 25mm maxis detonator on the rear with my blistered thumbs, it wasn't that hard.

Actually, the last flat I had was at the Air Force Academy road race. I then went all winter long without, then boom, three in a row, plus one. Knock on wood, I think I'm good for another while.
I have found tubeless requires 0 extra effort for a ton of benefit

If by "giving up" you mean stop posting garbled-sounding '70s music, that's not sad at all.

It's cute when the avatar kitty chases them, but she's also really good at swatting them out of the air.

A bit annoying when the little quad is all the way across the house

2nd detonator went on without tool also. . What am I missing? Is it the extra room to move the tube into? Beads look about the same width. Although it was easier to get the 2nd bead down into the ditch. Maybe because these are used tires?
Either way I'm going to wait for the new rim strips before I try them on the bike.

Use definitely softens them up.

Can’t believe someone thought “Detonator” was a good name for a pneumatic tire.

The video documentation of this seems to be lacking.
