Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe I’m just lucky, but I’ve never had a problem getting GP 5000 to seat with anything but my crappy Blackburn pump both on the stock R3 wheels and my Industry 9 wheels.

Hmm... I could do that with Hutchinsons but not the GP5Ks. And with a good Spesh floor pump.

Ah well, happy with my Michelins for now.

Supposed to drop into the 90s this week and maybe even the high 80s by Wednesday.

I rode Saturday with a group and we got done before noon but it was still hot. We split into smaller groups as longer, hillier options appeared. Two of the women hung in there and did all the climbs without complaining, even a short dirt section, too. I look forward to riding with them again.

Today I rode alone and did some local climbs including a 14% section and I felt pretty good, considering my neighbors have had parties 2 nights in a row and I haven't had much sleep. Maybe that's the key, get so sleep deprived that I don't notice heat or discomfort.

I put the Michelins on no problem, no flats I just didn't care for the dead ride they gave.
I also tried a wire bead ultra deport I have due to an ordering error. Also No bueno. Can't remember when I've been this frustrated.
Also had a flat on my recovery ride this morning. Had to use my only surviving backup tube to get back to the car.
You're probably not using Pedro's levers. And a bead jack.

I don't know, I was never a fan of Yes (mostly didn't like Anderson's voice) and no amount of analysis can change that. When their songs would come on at work my response was "No Yes".

A Winnebago'd 4wd Sprinter. He showed me around a bit - stove, bathroom with shower, motorized bed that raises/lowers, solar panels on the roof, etc etc. Being a bike nut, he also has a rack on the back.
