@Lattz Yes. I had my LBS install Italian flag colored spokes into the rear wheel build. It came out better than what I had in mind.

I originally got the frameset back in November 2019 from Denver, Colorado. This is the way it arrived as a single speed/fixie.

With great hope that someone more knowledgeable corrects me I make an uneducated guess and say its a Peugeot with Reynolds 753 although Pug TTs I've seen with such seat tubes had over DT shifters, external RB cables and had no fillet brazed tubes but the sharp internal - prefab - brazed ones. Other guess would have been MBK but those usually had dropped seat stays. Out with those counter opinions!!!

A nice one anyway, and those brakes are not really common although like CLB usually they are not expensive when popping up.

I didn't realise this was your swansong. No fireworks? No press release?

Thanks for the inspiration over the past 9 months, may all your rides be low and aero.

This caught my eye the other day, there is a lot to consume, not only the details on the tubes...

the next episode of the "for sale" series, unfortunately classifieds do not provide the best quality (drive side?) pics, but at least there are bikes, which might not got big attention before...

I don't know what's this, but as the song goes, "it doesn't matter if you're black or white"... but to play a lil' bit A-hole, I can't imagine why didn't he get a white solid Campagnolo chainring for the white wheelset...

I wonder if that seatpost is meant to point forward or the owner intentionally installed it that way to get a more forward saddle position.

Man those Ambrosio disc wheels got me wanting to do a worldwide hunt for a set.

It is a triathlon post. Tria guys might be able to explain why it is better and how many milliseconds it shaves overall while the rest might tell you that its one of the many weird tria things <joe king here> to get attention...

Apart from the joke it really looks like the rider wanted to counter the effect of the back-bent ST as the seat is the pushed as forward as possible.

This most likely French one is really similar (not identical though) to the one icemilkcoffee asked about - hey did you got that one btw?

Actually I would have loved to find more detailed pics from the drive side. Its kind of a mix of Campa and Mavic and these days I started to develop an interest towards the latter.

I see many lo pros have very slack headtube angles, what would be the reason for that, and how do they handle?

Hey Ben I see you got your computer back. I'm lacing the hubs to H Plus Son SL42.

I recently bought a separate 105 32h hubset to match the front-wheel spoke count. It wouldve been difficult lacing 36 hub to 32h rim.

As the owner of 0 lo pros, I can only answer "in theory"... but as I don't know your knowledge on it either, this can be a "Thanks Capt. Obvious" kind of answer for you, but maybe others are interested as well...
The slack head tube makes the front of the bike lower (without further stressing the rider, e.g. see the Soviet type of fork mounted handlebars on the pursuit bikes) and the wheelbase longer.
The longer wheelbase makes the bike less "nervous", which comes handy on long runs, like TT, road bumps should be consumed easier. Helps keeping an ideal curve as turns are more precise however somewhat slower (especially at corners) compared to a steep head tube angle.
Anybody out there feel free to add/remove/correct.

Razesa day.... not the most common player in the TT field, but the Basque brand helped Indurain to achieve the first of five in a row TdF victories in 1991.

..one more just for the Gipiemme Tecno wheels (not that the bike itself is not good or something)... I would put them or Fir Aria on all my bikes.

No- I wish! Some Bay Area local must have snapped it up though. It was off CL in just a few days.
Where is the seat post clamp on that chrome bike though? It's awesome filet work and they've disguised that seatpost bolt really well somewhere.

Oh... sorry to hear read that. believe me, I know he feeling. I have missed out on so many "big deals" in the past. Actually I was about to post the newest one here as a "mourning post", but then the idea slapped me in the face, that the topic might be a good thread on its own as well. I'm sure most on BF has a painful missed out chance to talk about.

Meanwhile as I tried to further educate myself on the French bikes (which ultimately lead me to miss out one) I started to believe, that the bike you've posted is rather from some smaller builders than from any of the big names.
It is surprisingly not that easy to find info on French lo pro stuff. Most keyword searches on time trial (vélo/velo CLM) lead to modern stuff, while searching for lo pro (vélo plongeant) will lead either to the big names Mécacycle/Peugeot/MBK/Gitane (but not in masses either) or to some smaller or one-off builders, where you won't find two identical frames - if you find anything else beside the one google dropped you. There are also many pictures mostly on forums, where French people play"whats this frame" with other French and the answer mostly "can be anything".

As for the chrome beauty (cool isn't it?) I guess the seat screw might be under that "bigger chunk" of brazing where the seat stays meet, if any. First I thought there must be a clamp what they removed for the photo, but the filed seat tube would rule it out. To be honest, I would rather assume, that a guy (read artist) who can build such a frame (and does it) would rather have his arms cut than to screw the overall design with a clamp, so he might also have modified the seat post to fix it internally. Might be a stupid guess, but not impossible, especially if this is a show-off bike, not a die hard for every milliseconds racing machine. What do you and the good people of TT Land think?

This did not let me rest and I revisited the pics. I tend to see a few pixels around on this pic which might be a screw or just a reflection on the chrome. You know how human brain works if you want to see something you might see it even if its not there..... so it can be something or nothing. I guess this will remain a mystery for a while.

Normally I try to post good quality (and high res.) pics but in this case the bike jistified to work from whats available.
