Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Unless it somehow changes your lungs, it seems the effect would be very short-lived.

Days when I focus on breathing, Garmin indicates a lower stress rating. And my anxiety is subjectively lower.

Do you have anxiety on a daily basis? I sometimes have awful anxiety and riding helps or eliminates it. I have not tried anything else to deal with it.

I got my car, my drivers license and a pack of smokes the same day, I think. I quit at around 50. I don't mark the calendar and celebrate birthdays for all the stuff I quit, simply because I'd be eating cake all year. Not that that's a bad thing.

Ew. Dill is only good for dill pickles. Do not like it in anything else.

I wish I could like it, it would open up a lot of food options for me. Same with hummus and a lot of Mediterranean foods, I can't explain it but I can't eat any of it Hummus, feta cheese, olives...all do not agree with my palate in the slightest way.

Hmm. Now that I think about it I do think that I've had some thin, dried strips on top of a salad before.

Docs say I have asthma and/or COPD. It got to feeling pretty bad and they prescribed Trelegy Ellipta. I did it for several weeks and it seemed to help a lot. It's 3 drugs in powder form in an inhaler. I wanted to go back to it when I didn't have drug coverage but an inhaler costs $600. Now I use Albuterol sometimes. Lungs feel pretty good most of the time these days.

I love all that stuff! I worked for an Armenian guy and he took me to Armenian lunch places and it was great. He also fed me at his place a few times.

Oh god yes. You weren't around in the bad old days before I found AG, and the various parts of swim-bike-run help keep it at bay. Briefly.

If it hadn't been for endurance sports, I would have been on and off meds, legal and otherwise, for the last 45 years.

Got the new iPhone. Data transfer went smoothly. But incompetent Verizon has not yet activated by number on the new phone. One of IT guys is back on hold waiting to talk to them again. There out to be a law.

Rapha is too divisive for my bank account.

Got two of the "Race" jerseys from The Black Bibs as well as a neck gaiter for the end of not-summer.

I hope that they fit well, since I'm going to need to get some winter gear soon. I've had only a single long sleeve thermal jersey for like the last 8 years.

There is a Lebanese restaurant near here and they serve "family style" where they bring big plates of everything to share. Back when we could go to restaurants 10 of us went there after a Wednesday ride. It was so delicious I want to go back.

I've never really shopped their stuff, so I took a look - not bad if it fits!

I kind of like the look of these Air Speed jerseys, but holy schnikes does someone need to work on their white balance -

\Neon colours do tend to throw a curveball at cameras and Auto Levels in photoshop, but how anyone could let that leave photoshop and end up on a website blows my mind.
