Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My seatpost is better than that one.

In other news, I am fast on the new ride. 50-34 has its uses but doesn't fit my riding needs. I'm not climbing mountains.

Also, those rusty rims add more grip during braking.

Aren't you supposed to be gently persuading people not to throw money at basket cases?

Although I do love the paint scheme. I'd be tempted to get some new wheels and SLX on there

I just remembered I have a Walmart bike with $80 handlebars and some other nice stuff on it out in the garage, and I need to put some less good but still perfectly functional stuff on it and give it away to a friend in need.

Weird bar-end position. Weird shifter position but that might be because the bars are cut down to 400mm.
When that rust wears off those steel wheels will feel like they are greased when it's raining.

Actually today’s ride is rather flat. With group rides, one must compromise.

Time to ride.

The guy that wrote up the work order could not talk the owner out of paying us to polish this turd.

I feel like this bike gets leaned against the shed when it's raining.
