Just added fenders to my takara for some winter riding. I store it horizontally so I had to saw off about 3-4” of the rear fender so it would fit on the stand without getting in the way.

I did that to the rear fender on one of my commuting bikes years ago. Just to keep my coworkers from drafting off me.

From google; Watersnake Innovations made rare and odd snake shaped bottle cages, in Tucson, Arizona in the 1990's. No longer in production.

I gave my Trek 970 a few updates as it's currently being used to mountain bike with my buddy while I wait for my new bike to arrive in April.

XT / Mavic Wheels
3x9 XT Shifters
26x2.35 Tires (Max I'd go with the front)

Just the way it was back then. 22" bike comes with a longer stem. I think this one is 10mm shorter than the stock even (I didn't get the stock stem when I bought the bike).

I was looking for a mountain bike and found this 1983 Stump Jumper Sport the other day.

I am just the "budget minded rider" Specialized was thinking of when they released this bike (almost 40 years ago).

So clean! My 1985 Stumpjumper Sport in blue is not even close to as nice, but I have literally ridden it in all kinds of conditions including salty slush covered roads. I was young and without a driver's license then.

I love those handlebars. The early Stumpjumper is the bike I compare every other mountain bike I try to.

I see a lot of C-dale's around and many of them are really interesting, but the head shock always raises questions for me. Are they readily serviceable? Are parts scarce? Are they very pricey to service? Are there years where they are basically on their own with no parts..etc..or are the same parts used in many/all the head shocks? Is a replacement rigid fork an option? ..very nice ride btw..

My current stable. Pink 1987 Cannondale SM800 is my most recent purchase. Thinking about converting to BMX bars since the frame is on the small side.

Thanks, the paint is a little scratchy, but everything on it appears to be original and works. I love the shifter levers - no plastic to break!

Since post number 7602, I’ve had the Moots modified and refurbished. New decals and the frame, seatpost, stem and handlebars bead blasted.
