Silly question.
The masses have a bad reputation of being easily suckered. P.T. Barnum was right all along.
Don't make me have to get all political up in here.

We're talking about a razor, not some belief system.

I think that, for the most part, the masses don't know that there's a viable alternative to cartridge and electric razors, tbh. Have you ever seen any marketing for DE razors? You probably won't, unless you go looking for it first.
Until a few years ago, I was only vaguely aware of their historical existence, had preconceived notions about poor effectiveness and the risk of nicks and cuts, and had no idea of their current production and availability. It's still a niche market, to be sure, but it's definitely on the rise - that you can now find DE razors and blades on the shelf at places like Target is proof of that. Ditto with the YouTube videos with millions of views (side note: it's oddly calming to watch someone go through their traditional wet shaving routine).

After the group ride the other day, we stopped off at the garage/shop of one of our members. He's a petrol head and had a little mini-moto in the shop. I'm glad that I only stayed for more than one beer - I can imagine that I taking that thing for a spin around the block would have started looking like a good idea with a couple more in me.

*the caveat is that some wouldn't consider it to be a 1:1 in terms of the number of good shaves available from each, but where that ratio lands is personal preference and could vary quite a bit.

Man, I wanted one of those, and now I see toddlers piloting Mercedes and BMWs around the block.

This weekend was weird.
Had a 2+ hour phone call with the owner of a bike shop in SC and was essentially told that I have a position there if I want it.
Pros:
1. Bike shop job(?)
2. Neighbors to DougRNS, quasi-neighbors to Velo Vol
3. No stupid winters
3. Nearby Mt. Mitchell
Cons:
1. Bike shop job(?)
2. 50% pay cut and no benefits
3. Moving across the country is stupid expensive.
4. 3rd worse COVID conditions in the country at the moment
At least I've basically got 2 weeks to decide
