full chromed frameset 70/80s mystery ID

I've been trying to find out who made this frameset for a long time.
Unfortunately, my searches are fruitless.

- chromed BOCAMA lugs ( stamped number 60 & 73 )
- flat noname dropouts
- 6 digits SN ( 410878 )

- frame adapted for 27" wheels (28" are too small)

does anyone have any ideas?

you make no mention of tubing diameters nor threading

combination of features suggest a possible Carnielli product

numbers marked in lugs refer to angle, as measured in degrees, between the respective tube sockets

brake bridge and chain stay stop suggest an Italian origin

fork crown is an Agrati item; it is Nr. 001.8518

the plain bottom bracket shell may be Agrati Nr. 000.8507

Teodoro Carnielli's "De Luxe" model road cycle bears similarity to your frame

catalogue page of the year nineteen & seventy-three

[catalogue illustration misleading. nominal 1973 model but photo is of a model from around 1964. note amber reflector on the parallelogram of the Simplex Prestige rear gear mech.]

there are two housing stops on the non-drive side of the top tube to accommodate the rear brake cable.

one answer and very accurate!
What you wrote matches my frameset.
Today I did not have time to measure the diameter of the tubes and check the thread. I'll try to do that tomorrow and post the info. At the moment I am very grateful to you for your help.

some of the frame details of this 1973 "UNISEX" model (berceau) line up closely with those of your frame;

lug pattern, fork crown, frame ends, seat stay treatment, housing stops

only wish image had a few more pixels to show details with greater clarity...

so, I measured the tube diameters.
I couldn't check the suport because I couldn't find a tool to unscrew it

measurements all within .1mm of nominal, i.e. what one would expect

26.2 seat tube interior measurement suggests frame constructed of a quality plain gauge hi-tensile tubeset such as Zeta or Z50, i.e. a notch above the proverbial "gas pipe"

I guess that's a good sign.
Do you think it's worth restoring this bike like the original? Not for sale, just for collection?

first order of business prior to decision to restore would be to verify identification

gave me best information but that does not mean it is correct

you could begin by looking at some examples of Carnielli products online

they owned a half dozen marques; by far the best known of which is Bottecchia

date looks like it would be roughly around 1970, i.e. late sixties to early seventies

you may find a cycle which lines up with it closely...

I agree with you completely!
I meant more that the frameset is made of good quality materials - as you wrote. Hence the question whether it is worth thinking about renovation at all
I will definitely keep looking with your valuable tips in mind. It might be easier now

Unfortunately, despite the chrome, the crude stamped steel dropouts don't say much for this frameset. Most likely entry level at best.
