I have been looking for a Trek FX in 63.5cm for a reasonable price and finally found this 7.5. It is in great shape and with few miles on it. The wheels and carbon fork worry me a little but it I ride lightly so should not be an issue.

Picked up a carbon fork for $20 to see what the hype is all about and man what a difference. The only issue is the way it looks, so I'm planning to 3d print a cover for a smoother transition and spray paint it black.

we have a similar 7.5 FX - no issues with the wheels and no concerns about the fork.
I’m not aware of issues with the fork. LBS sold a large number of these bikes when they were a Trek dealer and I don’t recall short or long term issues with the fork. LBS owner’s 80+ yr old mom was still riding her 7.6 FX with carbon fork up until recently.

The FX sport 6 comes with Bontrager GR1 team issue gravel tires 700 x 40 . bicycle rolling resistance gave them horrible reviews.
Since I will be using this bike for road use only, I am making the switch to Vittoria Corsa Pro Control 700x34 tubeless. I will report back soon.
I also considered Gravel King semi-slicks.

original Cane Creek headset - not sure of the model (US Patent 5095770)
can use a Park tool / headset cup remover or similar to remove the pressed in cups
the shoulder on your carbon fork appears to be larger than on this 2007/8 OEM carbon fork ... ? ...

Blue fork kinda growing on me, I'm thinking of just keeping it without color matching to the bike.

Is or was anyone here a member of the Trek FX bicycles Facebook group? I could have sworn I was, but sometime within the last two weeks the group seems to have disappeared. Did it really ever exist? Was I ever actually a member? What's going on here?

It's very strange. It doesn't show up on a search for me -- anything with the word "trek" in it gives me results evenly divided between various Trek bicycle-related groups, and a bunch of Star Trek-related groups. But "Trek FX Owners" does not show up. Have I been banned or blocked?

Did you actually join the group? If so, the group name will show up in your 'groups' list.

Yes, I looked at My Groups and it's not there. I can't join the group because it doesn't exist, according to what Facebook is telling me. I suspect I've been banned and blocked.

I've confirmed that the Trek FX Owners group still exists and my old posts are still there -- but I cannot access it from my own Facebook account.

I had a Trek Madon 5.5 and sold it for the FX sport 6 to by my road bike. I replaced some aluminum with carbon fiber and replace the gravel tires with Vittoria Corsa Pro Control 700x34. Now it as fast or faster than my Madone was. It only weighs 2 lb more at 20.4 lbs. It's more stable and easier to control. Much more comfortable. Better vision and safer. So to me, I think it's the ultimate road bike, for me.

Interesting. Just sold my road bike (Canyon Endurace carbon) and have been looking at the FX sport 5 and the 6. I think the 5 is about 2 lb. heavier, so not sure it would make a good road bike substitute. But it's full carbon so it's not a clunker. Though the 6 has the advantage of the carbon wheels...
what made you want to switch from endurance road bike to hybrid?

I have a 2020 a fx 3 and just bought a 2021 fx sport 4 which has similar components of 2022 fx sport 5 + isospeed. I sometimes think should I have gotten a road bike but at the time of buying I felt since I ride in non country roads the upwards visibility is a good thing.

Truthfully I haven't been riding the road bike much, opting to ride my gravel bike on multi-surfaces. But I need to be more upright (cranky back!) and would prefer something light, thus my interest in the FX5. The Canyon was an awesome bike and I hated to sell it, but I have a garage space issue -- don't we all?
