Sinice this is a recovery/fun ride, misbehaving typically involves pushing the pace and breaking up the group. It sometimes happens in spite of my attempts to keep everyone in line. Today was perfect in that regard, we kept a modest but consistent pace.

In a serious note, I havnt been focusing on mileage the last couple weeks. Just doing what garmin tells me, and just focusing on time.
When it comes to the garmin workout plans, I wish you could change the work out days as needed. When I developed the plan I picked Monday-Thursday as ride days, typically I work weekends, which works out. I leave for work tomorrow and will basically be gone the whole workout period. There is no way for me to go into the calender and change rest days/ workout days.

When you hate the Patriots and want them to lose, but ALSO want them to draft outside of the top QBs, and also want your Giants to draft high, but they're playing each other...

Zwift "Cobbled Climbs", three laps, 11/24. I think it's modeled after the UCI Richmond VA course, or something. The course has a few killer 1-2 min climbs in the second half without much time to let the HR recover between. Three laps total. IDK if I just haven't recovered from holiday gluttony yet but man I was struggling.
I got dropped from the front group (of 8) towards the end of the first lap, and it was clear we were racing for a top 10. I did not get the top 10. That is all. Somedays you are the hammer and others you are the nail; today I was the nail.
This is at the end of the last lap. See all that red? Yeah...
Not my best showing.

Dewalts can use a 20v slide to 18v post battery adapter. One allows me to use my older post style 18v tools with better batteries.

Stopping is optional, but you don't have to stay on the bike the whole time. I ran out of water the other day, so I hopped off the bike while descending Epic KOM, filled my bottle and grabbed a snack in the kitchen. When I got back to the bike, my avatar was still descending--and pretty quickly, too.

Not all the Zwift miles are smooth. The Mayan Jungle route is pretty rough, and the speed decrease shows it.

I looked back at one of my weeks on the Strava Addiction group and I think the average MPH was like 24 or something over the 6 hours that I rode.... lol. Only in fantasy land.

Since the mtb drivetrain is thrashed I decided to start gathering parts. It has an FSA crank with an 82mm bcd. I bought a chainring for it in 2018 and FSA was very helpful and made sure I got the right one quickly.
This time their on-line store doesn't work and they don't reply to their e-mail. Tried to find one and they are out of stock at the usual sources. Finally found a store that showed one in stock so I ordered it, even though it's more than it should be.
That was on the 16th. I went to their site to track it and it says "transferring to store" or similar. Clicking on the "track your order" icon and putting in the order number it takes me back to the home page.

Part of the diesel craze brought on by the oil embargo or one of the jumps in oil prices. Then the craze ended. One year there were around 13 different car makers offering diesels, the next year it was like 2 or 3.
GM took a gas engine and converted it to diesel. No turbo meant no power, they smoked and tossed main bearing caps out through the oil pan. The first thing to happen was the head bolts would stretch. When you took them out they would have an hourglass shape. This allowed the combustion to aerate the coolant and the first thing the driver would notice was no heat from the heater.
There were nearly new cars waiting for head gaskets and new bolts. Nobody wanted to do it so I was hired for that, specifically. I think it paid 5 or 6 hours and took me a day and a half. It wouldn't have been worth it if it paid twice as much.

meanwhile they had a vintage farm tractor and an old backhoe that ran like new and were as dependable as an anvil
