Helps to tell them you want their badge numbers.
My friend the chief of our police department told me that his favorite is when a person being arrested for DUI tells the arresting officer that they should call the chief because they are friends and the chief will let them go. Chief told me that is response is always, “Book ‘em.”

Found myself on my roof, in a rain/frozen rain storm. Attempting to repair a leak yesterday. It is still unknown if it worked. Of course it stopped raining after the repair was completed.
Today I have found out I am not a spring chicken. Lower back and glutes are both sore after. Knees are swollen and painful.
Even better looks like I'm putting a roof on it this spring. Fml.

yup any bike worthing stealing is worth dying for or killing another person for..shoot out at the ok corral style....this is a 100% serious question. would you be willing to kill someone who stole your bike? maybe just shoot them in the leg? how far would you go to get it back?

It’s another rainy day so I did an hour of fake miles in the basement. Luckily my club’s ride coordinator posts group club rides on Zwift so I had some company. He also adds a companion Zoom meeting which works out well.
On a sadder note, one of my cycling friends who rode with us yesterday went directly from the ride to his girlfriend’s house in Philadelphia and left his bike in the car….and it got STOLEN! This is a custom Seven with CF/Ti frame and Dura-Ace Di2, so a really nice bike.
He has a tracker on the bike and knows the location, working with the Philadelphia police to try to get it back. I hope he gets it and that it’s intact.
Bike theft sucks.
