This is the only legal Subaru swap. Subaru engines are NOx pigs, and the newer ones require two cats that just wont fit.

Looks like I left the wine fridge door ajar all night in the garage. Now something is making an awful noise (the compressor)? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot it? It was sorta spendy so if the compressor is toast, I think Liz and I would try to purchase and install a new one.
EDIT: I just unplugged/re-plugged the power supply, and it started cooling and the noise went away. I wonder if it's fine and has some tough components in there!

We got it around the time I was heavily into archery and flirting with bowhunting. Then I actually killed a couple deer, at the invitation of an Imaginary Friend in Montana, and it turns out Mrs, GJ doesn't like venison. Like, at all. And I wasn't going to spend all the money it takes to be a California bowhunter (because, mostly California bowhunters travel to other states to hunt).
So, now the freezer has a couple bags of frozen shrimp, because The Older Boy can't resist BOGO sales on jumbos. And some frozen food from Costco. And some of that frozen, organic dog food that Rango doesn't really like. But that stuff comes with great rubber bands, holding the packages together, which are perfect for afixing a handtowel to the handlebars on the trainer!

We moved for our personal satisfaction - in the context of phrantic09 's comments about not supporting entities that don't share common values it could be considered selfish, especially in our case where we're insulated in some ways from certain policies enforced by the state. I'm not really an activist, so my move and subsequent decision to remain here is a bit of an implied acceptance, albeit an acquiescence in all honesty. It doesn't keep me up at night but it's still something that's on my mind.

So, Day 3 of COVID - I feel like I'm back to 90-95% of normal. A little snotty, but that could also be the pollen, which is no doubt very high after the beautiful day yesterday - high or 77 degrees! It could have been EPIC!!!
I'm pretty sure I caught it on the plane. Silly me, I thought about masking on the plane, but nobody else was, so I didn't. Plus after 4 hours I feel like my ears are being pulled off. Now I'm in exile, living among the bikes. The wheelset I was planning to rebuild, and the rims I bought to do it are taunting me from the corner of the room.

Second mtb ride. I’m smitten
The hydration pack is a minor thing. It carries the pump and some tools after all.And it could carry a couple meals, if it came to that.

Anyways, I'm going to give classic drops a try on my Holdsworth:
Also bought a set of Assioma Unos so I can free myself from this intermittently creaking FSA crankset with a Stages meter. Also I'm looking forward to ditching Speedplays. Generally they're okay but I have so many recurring little issues I'm just sick of always having to mess with them.

Time for some more yard work. Was thinking about a birthday ride for a while but now some friends are getting involved. Seems they've cooked up a route for next Saturday but we'll see who's still in later this week. Not as much climbing as I was thinking but riding with others who are all faster than I am adds a level of difficulty.
The route I had in mind is over 70 miles with around 7K feet. The problem with that route is the race cars drivers have discovered it. Plus the whole 7K feet thing.

I reckon they're not all that outdoorsy though, so they won't notice that as much as I would.

What issues were you having? I've lost the occasional cleat screw, and had a spring get wonky one me, but for the most part, my Speedplays have been pretty trouble-free.

For whatever reason - both the official Wahoo walkable covers and the cheap eBay covers that I bought after losing a few "real" ones and didn't want to pay that much money for again - I would lose a cover like once every 2-3 weeks. Always on the side that I clipped out on at a stop. Also, trying to keep the cleats from squeaking even when using a dry lube I started using Pledge (which should dry solid), I would always end up with greasy residue on the pedals and then subsequently my socks, no matter how careful I was.
Functionally they worked fine and there's a lot I like about them, it's really just the walkable cover issues.
