Electra Townie range extender cable

I own an Electra Townie Go 7D step through and just bought the Hyena extender battery and cable. The problem I am having is the cable won’t plug into the power outlet on the bike. It has an extra rubber strip on the top of the cable adapter that stops it from fitting. The pin configuration is the same. I ordered model W5286062 and the bike shop I bought it from is trying to figure it out. If anyone has this same issue and found a solution would greatly appreciate it!!

update May 6/24. Received a reply from Hyena in Taiwan as follows:

Thank you for writing to us.😊
The battery model of Electra Townie Go 7D step thru is not compatible with the extender battery.
The range extender battery is compatile with the main battery (BP-TR19A), instead of (BP-EL19A).
