yeah, re-did the tape, put on my mirror and my bike computer, added air to the tires and took it for a short ride. everything works well, did notice there is slight wear on the rear hub, but other than that seems to be solid.
Have to say I'm surprised how close the geometry/feel is to the sequoia. My Douglas(Colorado Cyclists) backup bike is so aggressive and feels undersized and out of balance despite being a techincally larger frame compared to the roubaix. If you put me on the roubaix and the sequoia blindfolded I'd have a hard time telling them apart in terms of position and fit.
Tomorrow I will swap the wheels, pedals with my backup bike and try to get in a proper test ride. So far I really love this bike, but it could just be "different".
Can't say I'm in live with the Tiagra shifters, but also an easy swap down the road.

Thiis is my go-to bike because its gear for out of shape people like me.

Built/added one to the collection. 99% complete and still getting dialed in. Still undecided on how my paint turned out and it might be a little big but I only have 500 km on it so far.

Well my "billboard" concern went away with the disintegration of the Corsa Team V hub, 14 miles out in the middle of nowhere. It broke apart & locked up tighter than Dick's hatband (who knows where that expression came from?)....I had to lift it up as it wouldn't roll. I communicated with Kemco Group Inc. & Novatec only to find out this hub was no longer made.
My local shop ordered me some new wheels with Mavic Elite rims, Origin8 hubs & DT Swiss spokes. I've made some other tweaks since the earlier photo was made so this is me now:

Those Vuelta Corsa wheels were too nice to not use somewhere so I had a replacement hub put on by my LBS and put the set on the '86 Bianchi that also had the original Araya rear wheel develop a crack in the rim (jeez I've had had a time with wheel failures). Not so sure about the purple/red color blend. I have some more red bottle cages, maybe that might pair the colors better?

My recent 2016 Roubaix addition.
Swapped in my Shimano RS wheel/hubs and my gators kins in place of those stock axis-1 rims and those gravel tires. Swapped out the Specialized seat with something a little more forgiving, added another bottle rack and a mount for my pump. Have ridden a few times now and have gotten used to the Tiagra shifter/derailer and will stick with it for now. So far I am loving this bike and my sequoia is taking a back seat.

The relative appeal of any color combo is subjective so, if you like the red and purple, I think you should go for it. Another option would be to remove the red stickers (assuming they are stickers) by heating them up *A LITTLE* with a heat gun and gently peeling them away. I don’t know why wheels have to be billboards but using bright red in the graphics does limit the traditional color ways they can be a part of.

Gotta love the Trek DS line. Had a DS 8.5 myself, awhile back. (Was stolen, unfortunately.) Had installed a nice set of Velocity Dyad rims, Deore XT hubs, 47-622 Conti Tour Ride tires. Great bike, for around town and light trails.

I did a 45 mile ride today on the Chichaqua trail, which is a beautiful rails to trail conversion that has a canopy of trees throughout the trail, running NE out of Des Moines. I rode my 1980 Raleigh Record Ace. This model was not sold in the US and still has the sticker from the British shop that originally sold it. It is a Worksop built bike. The wheels, headset, and brakes are original. Oh and the sign above the bike gets bonus points for being clever.
