Thanks! The most beautiful bike I've seen in person is the De Rosa I saw while picking up and old Giodana from a local seller. My first time seeing Campy Delta brakes too and wow, what a beautiful total package.

Your stem might be one of those stems that crack without warning.
It's also too high, which increases risk. I see the slot showing slightly, so please lower it for your own sake.

Beautiful bike and restoration. You don't see many UO-8 bikes in colors other than other than white and (sometimes) blue. Orange, red, yellow, green, and black are fairly rare, too.
One more late confirmation of the tire size. I sold those in a Peugeot dealership back then. The original size was indeed 27 x 1 1/4". In fact, that was almost certainly the only 27" tire size available. IIRC, it wasn't until the late '70's, if that early, that 27 x 1 1/8" tires started showing up, and 1 3/8" tires weren't around until the mid '80's at the earliest.

Very nice looking bike, you did a great job fixing it up - looking fresh with the unusual colour. I have one very similar, but with internal welds (1980 I think), mine has 700c tires and the clearance looks to support 32 or so, the ride is very smooth.
