cc700, are those origin 8 track grips? If so, how do you like them? My Soma 456s are supposed to be here on Tuesday, and I'm thinking of getting a pair of those.

get them. they feel GREAT and they're nice and grippy. i think i'd rate them something like this:
grippiness 4/5
responsiveness 5/5 (not too mushy)
comfort 3/5
looks 4/5
and they fit the 456 great. i used alcohol to slide them on... i hear hairspray is better but this worked great.
light is a "viewpoint" 5 led, not sure the model. i think i got it at performance on clearance.

Very cool, I'll have to pick some up, do you think they'd be hard to get up to the top of the bars?
Also, did you order them online or get them at a LBS?

Spray hair spray in front of the grips on the bar, it will help them slide on, but be quick because when the hairspray sets it will act like a mild glue and keep them in place.

i hate how the pics are all closeups. i want to see the whole things, dammit. so that wheel is laced uniquely. if i can't see the overall effect of that lacing pattern, why care?

1st problem: you build your bikes up based on aesthetics.
2nd problem: you've got no sense of aesthetics.
I bet you would have gone for a green Brooks saddle if the bar wrap came in that colour too. Your bikes looks like some ****ed up track suit. Just because it's all the same colour doesn't mean it actually looks good.

dude... green and red are complimentary colors. brown is red with black and green added.
the gum on the tires, and the gold on the lugs and bell, throw some analogous highlights into the mix.
from a color standpoint, it's aesthetically flawless.
if you want to say that deep V's shouldn't go on something with leather on it, that's another kind of aesthetic, a design cohesion aesthetic... and sure, it has stuff that would look at home on a 50's bike and a few other components(the wheels, mainly) that would also look at home on a concept with lasers and diamond bling on it...
but that point is ridiculous because WHEELS ARE WHEELS. they haven't changed significantly enough in design (at least not those wheels) since the 50s to break the cohesive design.
if it had aerospokes or heds or carbon rims then maybe you'd have a point... but right now you're just making an ass out of yourself. cmon man. show some taste. especially when you're taking on one of the most classy, tasteful bikes posted in the last year.

Hey, we finally had a sunny day, so I got pictures of the new single speed in decent light.
Basically, it's my antidote for my carbon full-squish mountain bike.
It's high maintenance, but it's worth it.
