Yes! My wife and I (!) rode about 4 miles from our home to the registry office on our tandem, in full wedding regalia. It was fantastic, but the way back was even better; we deliberately routed through busy commercial areas, and were the object of much attention, honking and waving! See below

Not from my wedding...we used a 1928 Model A Ford. However I did cycle to and from my parents 50th wedding anniversary shindig at their local church. In full formal wear...white dinner jacket. Unfortunately I don't think anyone got pictures. I rode my 1972 Raleigh Superbe. Got plenty of wolf whistles, horn honks and thumbs up on the 2 mile ride

Not for the wedding, but the honeymoon was a cross country bike trip from Los Angeles to Washington D.C. It was a great way to start married life, since every day we would have to find and set up a homestead for the night in a new environment where we only knew, and could depend on each other. I can remember two distinct times on that trip when either one of us hit low a point, and were bouyed up by the other; me in Kansas and she in Ohio.

BTW, that trip was 31 years ago and we're still together.

That is so cool.. But, you were wearing wedding white. No scrapes with the greasy chain, I hope.

We rode away from our reception on a tandem bike. My wife set up the whole thing and I didn't know anything about it. It was a tandem that was recumbent up front (her) and upright in the rear (me). When we walked out to the bike I told her, "I've never ridden one of these things. Hope I don't dump you off into the road."

My wife would have ripped off my private parts and killed me had I even suggested the idea. She already complains about being a cycling widow.

I participated in a wedding that was held during the Midwest Tandem Bicycle Rally. It was in Omaha that year. (Also hotter than hell.)

All of the attendents were tandem couples. The bride was escorted down the aisle on one tandem and the groom rode in with no stoker. They left together, naturally, and we paraded through down town.

Mrs. Road Fan and I had a pot luck wedding in the back yard, back in 1985 when we lived in Denver, CO. The moms of her classroom students came over with a portable pavilion and table centerpieces from a church event that morning. My boss and his main squeeze biked to the event, around 50 miles round trip. We didn't bike in those days, but in Denver you learn to live in a very accepting way. My parents, in from Chicago, found it a bit odd, but we all just took it in stride.

On August 24th, Rowan and I rode a century (100 miles) in the mountains around Jasper, Alberta, and then quickly changed and got ready for a small, quiet ceremony by Lake Annette, just outside of Jasper. There were 6 of us there ... Rowan and me, my parents, and John and Pat (my cousins, and also the mayor of Banff). It was lovely.

I have put together the photos here:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/1430288...7607097344648/

If you click the word "Detail" (or each individual photo), you'll be able to see the comments I made with each photo.

If you click "Slideshow" and then the little button in the lower left with the four arrows, it will go to full screen. You can also use Info On to show comments, etc.

I was reminded of this thread today ... and wondered if there were others who included bicycles and cycling in their weddings.

I'm not surprised that there's one on the Sheldon Brown site: Marriage on the Bikeway
