Home

Veazie, ME is the place I call home. A lovely little village along the Penobscot River in the Eastern/Central part of the state. Bangor is the closest "Big City" and the place most people have heard of thanks to Roger Miller. Bar Harbor, the most well known tourist attraction, is about 65mi east. LL Bean, the next most popular tourist attraction (some think it the most) is about 100mi south. The biking here is a mix of Fantastic and Pure Hell. We love it!

Trudy - Is Wells very close to Arcadia National Park and Bar Harbor? I had some good riding there two years ago with some Boston friends, (former Fat Chance builders).

Spokane and "The Inland Empire"

Yo Trudy!, and whoever else wants to see what Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho have to offer, try, https://www.northdivision.com/
"North Divison" is the web site of a local bike shop, inside are links and tabs that have pictures/photos to local rides-(i.e. "Autumn Century"), and sites for local clubs that also have pictures and links- so you can get a feel for the area. One of the links, The Spokane Bicycle Club, has a link to a site, related to Spokane, that has photos and information for points of interest etc. in parts of three states and Canada!
Have Fun in the "Inland Empire"

It's not as cold as you think. Due to global warming and such we live in fiberglass igloos.

South Africa

Johannesburg, South Africa, but have been busy in other countries for five years now. Just finished the organisation of an Iternational Mounain bike race in Saudi Arabia, to promote tourism, for one of the Royal Family members.

Know how ya' feel Rainman

That's now four days since I had a hot shower (this has been a choice, they've all been either cold or lukewarm ones). It's summer down here, and I'm wishin' it wasn't.

Augusta, Georgia

Home of the Masters golf tournament and James Brown. Great climate, low crime rate, low cost of living... but full of gun toting, tobacco spitting rednecks driving high stepping 4X4 trucks, WWF wrestling star wannabes, and folks from the US Northeast escaping the winter snow.

Don't group me with this bunch, though... I grew up in Paris, XV Arrondissment, Blvd de Grenelle. Living in the American southeast is for me an ongoing cultural anthropology experiment.

Brunswick, Maine.
I wish I had been into wheels back when I went to UMO. Veazie and the like (from what I've heard) are incredible riding towns.
