My new ride, "Clementine"...
A brand new 2008 BMC Road Racer SL01 with full SRAM Rival I got TODAY for 1/2 off! LOVE her so so so so so so much... Went for a little recovery ride today with my wife on her after yesterday's century for the Pelotonia (featuring 3 flats) and it was just heaven. Coming from Ultegra, I'm really loving the SRAM.

Cool. How do you like the frame, how it is constructed; not geometry. Especially if you have a full carbon or full aluminum to compare it to. We sell Giant, but don't stock any alliance bikes. Sold a few special orders, but never got to test one.

Here is a mediocre cell-phone pic of my new 2009 R3SL Tour de France special edition
This was taken Saturday on Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, at The Pinnacles overlook. I've had the bike for about three weeks now, but two of those weeks I was out of the state, so I've only had 4 our 5 quality rides on it so far. I did the Reston Century on it last weekend, and today I did 102 miles on Skyline Drive.
Bike details:
Dura Ace 7900 mostly. Compact crank with 11/28 cassette. Zipp carbon bars, Look carbon Keo pedals. Toupe saddle. I took the Ksyrium SL Premium wheels from my previous bike.

god no. I'm not interested in making a couple bucks then having to go find another bike? Ugh. I just want to ride a bike I love and now I do more than ever. Kapu was & is a wonderful bike, but it was time.
14... I think that's a good deal (unless all BMC's are being dumped for that price? I see Comp. Cyclist has basically the same set up on the 08 Streetfire for 15 -- https://www.competitivecyclist.com/ro...ke-5977.html-- so who knows) , from what I could find online seems like it. The full SRAM rival alone makes me giddy. Testing riding it was like light bulbs and goosebumps going on all around me.
Rode it in today on very very tired legs and just had fun. Can't get over how responsive she is... Shifting down will take a little getting used to, but like CC said, "You never forget your first real race bike. The difference between a borrowed, second-hand, kinda-dated rig and your very first brand new one -- it's night and day." Now, I'm not a racer, but yeah, Clem's something special for me.

He was talking about your stem. From up to down. Unless you're pulling his leg.

As for the stem, yeah, thought about that and 99% chance I will, but left it "as is" for the moment to see how it fits. Get pretty flat in the drops as it is now, but yeah, I know me, I'll probably flip the stem soon enough (if only for the aesthetics at first). Proportionally, I'm more leg than torso, so I just need to make sure I fall into everything proper.
