I have no idea why you mentioned that KHS had a "decent bike or two".
It certainly doesn't mean that KHS wasn't more of a bargain brand (sort of like Schwinn).
What the OP bought was the typical bargain-ish bike of either brand.
So did Schwinn. These bikes are not those (they aren't notably "decent").
