From what I can figure its about an 86-88, Never found out the actual model name it does say Sport SS on the toptube. Well I got this after someone at work was going to toss it but I snatched it up and restored it, after new tires,chain,brake hoods, and barwrap & plenty of elbow grease it came out great. Rides like new just wish it was 1 size up, but its a keeper so far... Enjoy

Ok, here's another '87ish Cd'I. I sold this one and kept the white one.
(It seems there are a lot of Cd'I's, but they only made one or two of every other nameplate. At least there are two many models for me to reckon.)

Okay, it's official!! The Trofeo is mine, and it didn't cost me near as much as I thought. I may have a before pic as early
as tomorrow night. I built up a cyclocross bike with a bit of a weight problem, and he is going to do an even swap pretty
much. My first real Eyetalian bike, hehe. What were the Bianchi Campy groups in the early 90's? This stuff looks pretty nice,
but like much of the Campy stuff back then, you had to know it by sight because it has no name on it. It's 8 speed with DT shifters, if that helps?
I am excited, because this thing is MINT! Dried tires and grease, and a little fuzzy garage dust. NO rust, NO chips that I can see.,,,,BD

what year is this Trofeo? it was absent from the lineup from '88 through...I think '96ish. the Campi groups in the earlist part of the '90s was C-Rec, CdA (but fading), Chorus, and Athena. there wer a few new groups like a Xenon (something like a made over Victory IIRC) then Mirage, Veloce and the others starting coming along in '94ish

I don't know the year or the group, but from the steel stem and ergo bars I would have to guess at least 88 up? I have no idea, but it is GORGEOUS IMHO, hehe. I brought it home tonight, and shot a few before pics. It has it's first small tragedy though, the FD clamp was already snapped at the hinge before it came into the shop. Saddly the stem has to go, however. It's a 130 and while the frame fits, the bars are WAY out there! ITM stem and bars.,,,,BD

Nice bikes. Especially the TSX. I have a question about that one. The bottom bracket on that is unique and not many Bianchis I have seen have it (gussets on the chainstays and the little B's on the lugs). I have one like it but it says SLX but I don't think that is what it is.
My question is can you feel any ribbing in the downtube and seattube at the bottom bracket junction (with the BB removed and if you put your fingers up the tubes). I can't feel any any so I think mine is a 1993 El but I am always looking for confirmation.
Here is a picture of mine at one of my favorite spots, Alpine Damn in Marin County California. Mostly built with 1994 Record. Bike is a blast; rides and handles well and climbs like crazy (really surprises me given its weight). I like the heavier Record components and wheels (compared with my other bikes). I tried 200x Record crank on it and it was just not the same.

They're all nice, I have a thing for Celeste, and the older style. Otis' right now is the one I'd opt for given the chance. I had a Rekord back in '72 in Celeste and red graphics.Always wanted the Specialissima, though.

This thread reminds me that I need to take new pics. GD'I bars and celeste bottle cage are going on, with probably celeste tape and maybe a different seat.
Anyway I'm using a SRAM 8s cassette with the NR drivetrain and it's absolutely a pleasure to shift. 6600/Open Pro wheels.

jimmm18; has it always been your Bianchi? could it have been repainted? I would think you could feel the ribs through BB shell. is the DT ovalised at teh BB? great looking Bianchi and the background is breathtaking

Yes Bianchigirll it was repainted but the same color. No ovalize tubing. I posted it a few months back but since then have done a lot of research on it. That bottom bracket style is key. Makes it a 92-93 or so based on my catalog collection (not as extensive as yours but BB style changed when they went OS in 94) and it came with complete 94 record (carbon but with old style crankset) bike kit including the black stem and the correct bars (no longer on the bike for fit reasons). I don't believe Bianchi was importing SLX bikes at that time. TSX and EL and the SBX family of tubes.
Oh yea no ribbing on any of he tubes in the bottom bracket area. Just 21 pounds as built.

I have noticed something odd sbout mine The head tube is steeper than the seat tube. Not sure what else it does, but one thing it does do is make the top tube 60cm C-C! I am going to have a little fun trying to dial in a stem length. Is this a normal 90's thing? Seems like it would quicken the steering, yet slow the trail? Help me "get it"?,,,,BD

I do know the 130 stock stem really makes the seat tube setback painfully obvious, literally. The top tube is about 2cm longer than anything else I have in that size range, and I use about 100-110mm stem on those. I will start at 100mm and go from there. The sad
part is that I have a plated ITM that would look awesome on this bike, but it was already borderline too long on the 58cm top tube bikes.
Hopefully I can still find one in the right length, as I heard they went belly up a while back?,,,,BD

Bikedude; judging from the tubing decal, DT shifters and the Campi Stratos (yes?) it appears your Trofeo is an '96. the HT should be 73' and the seat tube varies a bit for size but is generally in the 72 to 74 range with 72' being on the largest frame 63cm a 75cm frame has a 74' seattube.
