A long time ago, I ran a B-17 Narrow on my road racing bike, which had about 4 inches of drop from the saddle to the handlebar. Worked fine.

After trying many different saddles, I find that all my bikes are equipped with some model of the specialized body geometry line, except the brooks on my touring bike.
They have a lot of options and styles.
For the road bikes, I've been pretty picky about the fit and adjustment because long rides make me very aware of any discomfort.
On the gravel bike, I've got a cheaper MTB model with more padding than I would normally choose but it's fine - my rides aren't usually as long as the road rides and I'm out of the saddle more often anyway.

I don't have a dog in this fight other than I have a B17 that I would like to enjoy but haven't found a way to make it work for me yet. I was just passing along something I saw in a video.

Hope this doesn't turn the thread in the wrong direction but here is the vid I saw. It's broken up in labeled sections seen on the time bar. I was following this thread and looking at videos researching for my next saddle.

The saddle that came with my Scott Addict was too narrow for my sit bones, and I'm no longer a young guy so I went to a shop and had my sit bones measured, then went with a prostate-friendly saddle. Lots of choices. Get your sit bones measured then go from there.

I tried two Brooks'. Never could break them in.
Then I became aware of the Selle Anatomica leather ones, which are kind of an American verison of Brooks. They use a leather treatment technology that's not from the 1700s, so they break in after relatively few miles.
I have an X-2 on my Domane and an X on my gravel bike, both with the perineal cutout. They're comfortable for three reasons:

1. Being leather and having the cutout, they breath, which staves off numbness.
2. The cutout doesn't put pressure on the prostate area
3. The compliance can be adjusted with a long allen bolt that's accessible from the front. it's like a hammock. As it stretches out over time, just tighten it up. They're also modular, serviceable, and US-made.

I'm kinda all over the place with saddles, 2 of the road bikes have Fizik Argos, my new bike came with a Selle Italia SLR boost super flow(that's a mouthful.) My gravel bike has a crappy WTB saddle that I never liked, but I'm throwing an Argo on that one. My XC bike still runs the kinda cheap WTB Silverado that came on it. My other MTB(enduro) has a wider and cushier WTB saddle that's good for more upright peddling. I'm fine with the stock WTB saddle on the XC bike, as I'm frequently in and out of the saddle. I've done marathon XC races before, and my ass wasn't what was hurting.

I'm kinda of the opinion, there is a general shape to saddles we prefer, but there are other factors for saddle comfort. Improper saddle tilt, height, and setback can make a good saddle feel crappy. Depending on the saddle shape, I generally run anywhere between 2 to 5 degrees forward tilt. I find the Argos like a lot of tilt, while the SLR feels perfect with a slight forward tilt.

Also, I wouldn't want to run my road saddles on my enduro bike. It's so upright, I don't know that I'd be comfortable on the narrower saddles. For my XC bike, I totally could and did on my last XC bike...I'm running a saddle to bar drop that's very "roadie" on it. On that or my road bikes, being rotated forward means that I'm effectively sitting on a narrower part of my sit bones.
