Mad Honk read my moaning about living in a bike co-op 'desert' and took pity and sent me my very own B-O-C! I'll be rummaging through it tomorrow. Thanks, Dave- & the check for postage will be on it's way tomorrow!

The Box O' Crap has been on ice for more than a few months now and with the beginning of spring it may be time to let it out of quarantine and resume it's journey around the US bringing joy to the recipients. So sign up now to play the game with the rest of us. Smiles, CrapMaster Honk.

For those of you on the fence, read through the thread. I've had the box in my possession 3 times, and each time I found more value in the box than the cost of shipping. It feels to me like this is the norm, not an exception. For me, I am even happier to see some parts I don't have a need for landing in the hands of a fellow BF member that will get use out of them.

The Box O'Crap has been replenished with some stuff that I hope future recipients like and is ready to ship. Unfortunately I got it to the post office right after it closed today. It will go out on Monday.

Please add me back to the list. I have taken part several times over the years and I always find something that is worth the price of admission. And the looks you get from the person at the post office are priceless!

The BoC is on its way. ETA to its next location is Friday. The beauty of it having been here for 6 months is a number of bikes have made an appearance in my garage so what I had to put in the box changed drastically.

I'm thrilled to once again be in receipt of the Box o' Crap!
Incriminating details removed. Here's my haul:
The most exciting find is the low-flange Campy hubset. I've been planning a 27 x 1 1/4" wheel build for my girlfriend's housemate's bike, have a nice set of Sun MAII rims, but the hubs I wanted to use would have required buying 72 new spokes, which isn't in the budget. When I pulled these out I immediately measured them and calculated that they would work with spokes I already have. Then I cleaned them up and overhauled them--cones and races are in perfect condition. Then I laced the wheels This is partly why it's taken me four days since its arrival to post about the BoC.
I have to say I'm impressed by the quality of the crap this go-round. I didn't take all the Campagnolo I'm repacking the box today and intend to keep the quality level high. It should be on the way to Nwvlvtnr on Wednesday!

I’m glad the hubs found a good home. It’s great to hear they are already built up.

I think I have been a bit remiss in my duties as CrapMaster. I had originally asked for pictures of your bikes with BOC parts on them to be posted here. That part of the game seems to have been dropped by many players and I have not pushed hard to get those pictures. But I think it is time to ask for those pictures of your bikes with Box O' Crap parts on them. Smiles, CrapMaster Honk

Cannondale ST400 with Shimano cantilever brakes and levers
1984 Miyata 310 with top mount shifter boss. Mine was rusty and the BOC yielded a nice shiny one.
I need to take some pictures of my bikes wearing their BOC parts. I tend to swap things around like a kid with a Lego set and I don't always take photos of all the various configurations. I used a Shimano Crane rear derailleur and a 600 Arabesque front derailleur for my FW Evans, which is currently disassembled for painting. I am also in the process of building up a Univega with BOC parts that I have accumulated over the years.

Staged photo made possible with nearly empty box. Reveal photos with and without sandwich bags on top.
Very impressed with the bulk and the quality of goods inside.
Brake levers from BOC round eight.
BB parts, levers, Simplex shifters, headset…

I wasn't intending to participate in the On The Road Again Project Challenge this year, but since I got this Univega frame for almost nothing, I thought maybe I could put it together completely from my parts bin. As I began to gather the pieces, I realized a lot of them had come from from the Box O' Crap. So I decided to see how far I could get using BOC parts. I began participating in 2011, so over time I have accumulated a fair number of parts.
It all began with this Univega frame I got for $1 at the Monroe Bike swap
BOC parts in the cockpit include the hoods, stem, and the cracked mirror. Maybe the next one will have a couple cable clamps.
BOC drivetrain parts include the front and rear Altus derailleurs, freewheel, pedals, crank bolts, downtube cable guide, and bottom bracket cartridge.
The seat post bolt is the last piece from the BOC. I tried to use tubes that I got from the BOC, but one of them blew out at the base of the valve right after I installed it.
