of course someone with your internet handle would appreciate Monk:thum b:. "in walked bud" and "straight no chaser" used to be my favorite, but lately i've really gotten into "round midnight." the first few notes are just something
not sure if this is directed at a specific poster, but i happen to get a healthy dose of old jay-z and nas when doing higher intensity stuff. when doing neither, i like simon & garfunkel & the rolling stones

Correct. Graduating in a few though.
We have a club team and I helped run it for a bit. Had a falling out with the other kid running it and decided that I'd just ride for the team I raced for over the summer. Then I got injured, so now I'm not riding at all.

Seriously though, it must be a southern thing because my mp3 player (iPods didn't exist when I bought it) has a lot of the same stuff Apus^2 mentioned. I only use it for riding the trainer, or warming up for a TT, so go figure.
It's mostly filled with stuff like the Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Moby, Prodigy, etc. But with the addition of George Clinton, some other funkadelic stuff, a bit of early rap (grandmaster flash era), and a few things "from the 80s" (I swear to god "Suzie Q" is on my mp3 player, yeah I should just shoot myself now. But hey, it's my workout play list, not yours, and if it helps me get done quicker so be it).

It seems everything pales when compared to Block Rockin' Beats.

Albums like Kind of Blue and Giant Steps are never cliche. They are simply too good to be ever labeled as cliches. OTOH, my favorite Miles album is this. Somehow it really gets me into a good mood.
of course, this particular album cover didn't put Miles in a good mood

They've become a staple of my trainer time - Dig your own hole and Push the button are good to go to keep me ticking over at 90-100rpm for an hour of intensity.
Off the bike, been checking out Heligoland by Massive Attack recently

Miles demanded George Avakian, an executive at Columbia Records, "Why'd you put that white b!tch on there?" The cover was later changed to what you have
ps. nice internet handle. we've got a fan of Monk & a fan of Miles, this is good
