Found an old sewing machine. Thought about taking it home and harvesting it for all the pieces that I probably would never use (but you never know) but changed my mind after i felt how heavy it was ~ 25 pounds

This morning I found some guy's driver's license laying in the middle of the turning lane on a 4-lane road. Saw it as I crossed the intersection, then got off the bike and ran out to retrieve it.
He's not on social media, so I guess I'm going to mail it to the address on the license.
Couldn't help but notice his height and weight. Dude, you really need to make some lifestyle changes.

The other day I glimpsed a package laying on the ground with what looked like a fishing reel, so I turned around and went back and sure enough it was a Zebco 33 Max closed face reel in the original unopened packaging, which saved it from the fall off a car, there was no scratches or dents. Cheap $30 reel, I'll probably buy a cheap rod and give it to one of my grandkids.

Not a commute, exactly, but I found all of this on today's long, fun ride... Louisiana never fails to make me go hmmm.
Just my on this long, lonely road
A family of wild, black pigs (in the wood line)
5 Bucks! I thought it was a trap!
An axe

Wow, did someone try to steal $5 from someone only to be threatened by a Hachette?

Actually, the money was found on my ride out, and the axe in the ride back.
When I got home, I looked up the axe and apparently it had some real good reviews. However, the handle was split and the blade was very dull. I didn’t want to lug it allll the way home. Besides, I have a hatchet and an axe of my own, already.

I've seen various kinds of road kill, but when I saw a FISH in the crosswalk going over the highway, I was surprised and confused. (It was dead.) It's right near the waterfront, so I figure a seagull dropped it during a mid-flight fight.

During a gravel ride detour* which meant hiking the bikes I spotted something white in the green foliage on the floor - curiousity took over and I put the bike down and brushed the leaves out of the way to discover a pair of airpods! I tried to give them to people walking through the area but no one would take them so I took them home and tried to get them reuinited but without any missing posts on facebook or a user name asigned to them they were to be forever lost to their original owner. I cleaned them up but couldn't bring myself to use them as it felt wrong, I eventually passed them on to a colleague who in passing mentioned how much they wanted a pair!

Heh. Reminds me of the time I spotted a large fish head on the side of the road on my way home. I rode past it for weeks as it decayed. Kinda gross, kinda interesting.
