Cannondale ST Frameset

58cm frame fork and headset, a few chips that have been touched up and a couple
small areas that looks like small bit of corrosion. $165 shipped, please add PayPal or f/f SOLD
I found a smaller frame that fits better.

Looks like an 86. Serial number starts with 23?

Yep, I think this is just what I have been waiting for to swap my components to from a frame that's too large! And I'm guessing maybe it's a little earlier, like an '84, seems to be without the mid fork mounts...

The frame is actually a 62cm to the top of the seattube, 58cm to top of toptube.

Anybody here that can recommend me a good FD for this frame w/triple? My parts donor is a steel frame and the current (Suntour AR) has a fixed clamp that will be too small. Believe these Cannondales should be a 31.8 clamp size.

Believe these originally came with Cyclone IIs mounted but all the ones I see are 28.6 clamp size. The steel band clamp looks easily swap-able thou, just don't know if these are easy to find...

Why do you want a triple? Assuming you already have the group or something?

Spot on, I currently have a 'too large' frame with an SR crankset (28-45-50), only non-compatible component from the donor that I can see is the FD with too small of a clamp.

Find the appropriate braze on FD and get a braze on adapter clamp in the appropriate size?

Thanks for the input, that is what I have been seriously considering, I had hoped that would open up the possibilities but so far only a little. I am able to find a MK1 version (not the early engraved) of the Cyclone that is braze on, any idea if this would be able to be set up to work reliably with a triple? I have also come across a Shimano FD-Z206 and FD-6207 (600) both with the appropriate size clamp but am not 100% sure on these, I think the Z206 is supposed to be a good one for this type of application.

Thanks for any advice...

Well, if you can view this in desktop mode, you’ll see my sig which has a link to pictures of my Trek 710 running first gen Cyclone with a triple. Granted, it’s a half-step plus granny (50-45-28), but that’s still technically a triple. Edit: I see you’re trying to run exactly the same thing!

I couldn’t guarantee your setup would run just any triple from my armchair, but I also wouldn’t hesitate to try it out.
