WTB Frame for 27" wheels

I thought I was going to used a beautiful wheel set on a Trek build. 27" wheels with Phil hubs.

The Trek turned out to take 700c wheels.

So I have a great 27" wheel set.

Does anybody have a nice C&V frame, 24", or 58-59 cm built for 27" wheels that you want to part with?

Thank you.

Might be a little larger than what you're after, but I have a 25.5" 1983 Trek 520 frame.

Is that measurement ST or TT? I have a cool sport touring frame that uses cantis and 27" wheels. It's taller than it is long. Something like 58x55cm.

Do you consider the Puch Reynolds 531 Ted Williams Free Spirit to be “nice”? I have one that’s 23.5” (which I think is the only size they came in). It takes 27” wheels.

That may fit the bill perfectly.
Any dents or bends?

Yes. I am only 6 foot. I don't like to bend over so far when I ride. Lower back issues. 58 cm-60 cm perfect. 57 often times short 63 cm definitely too tall. I sold a mint 25.5 Trek 720 to a BF member.

Paint is a little dull, but no dents or bends. If interested, I can take some photos.

Thank you. That would be awesome.

Heck, I went to the LBS today. I may need another 24" or so frame, more racy geometry for 700 c wheels to trade with or without boot. The LBS has been working on a vintage Trek 610. I looked up the serial number. 01 8951. It is listed as a 1982 610........25 inch! I measured ctc 24.5.

That is what I get for trusting my eyes.

I'm praying it fits. If not, I have a minty 600 tri color group with DT Swiss 700 c rums to find a home.

I would trade the Trek frame.

Not sure if it's interesting, but I have a pearl white'84 Peugeot PH10LE with through-top tube cable routing. I believe it's a 58 or 59. I can snap photos if you're interested.

Basically, this exact bike but in pearl white: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...e-103-25945976

Swiss-thread, but I can install a BB, and can also install a suitable headset.

May be too small, but also have a mid-80s Schwinn Super Sport in pearl I can part with but I think it's 57. Maybe 58. Also happy to take pics. Basically this bike: https://vintageracingbicycles.blogspo...per-sport.html

A little top tube rust around the cable guides and paint needs a good rub-out.

Jumping on the French theme - I have an extra early 70s PX10 frame that I was going to build up and sell, measures closer to 25, but then you would want the "French fit"

That Super Sport may be a great replacement for the Trek 610 if it's too big. 58 Seat Tube CTC is perfect. I usually can work with top tubes of different sizes. Frame or Complete Bike? What is your preference.

Thanks. But 25 is creeping into the painful realm.

I had to stop quickly on the mint 25.5 Trek 720 two or three times before I realized I had to sell it. Trek 720, maroon, full Blackburn racks, less than 200 miles......what a cool bike. I just needed to be 6' 4" instead of 6' 0' (or 5' 11 and 3/4 as I am shrinking).

I'll get measurements and take pics of the best & worst of it when I get home. I prefer to go F&F w/headset and BB. I'll give you an exceptional deal on it (hows $40 + BF/SB shipping sound?) because it needs some work, I paid a fairly low price, and would love to pass that along to a fellow BF'er.

Meanwhile, I realized I posted a couple pics of it here after I got it. Just so you can see the size and condition as-purchased. I was able to buff out a small section of those spots in the paint. Some wipes off with PB blaster. Some required a little buffing compound. Maybe it's too much work? I'll post more later if you want. Either way I'll follow up with a measurement.

(Oh - and I need to toss some 27" wheels into it to make sure those'll fit, of course.)

Thank you much. That sounds great. I'm not worried about paint blemishes. As long as there are no bends or dents, I'm good. I frame saver the frames and touch up blemishes. They will serve the rest of my life.

700c is good. Outnback had a Voyageur for the 27 inch wheels. This would be to replace the Trek 610 that is likely too large.

Ok, well, I tossed a pair of 70s steel 27" Rigidas anyway and I'll share pics.

The frame is great except that bit of rust around the head lug and the two forward cable guides (it was on a trainer). In 2nd pic, note the spot on the downtube bottle mounts where I cleaned the frame with PB blaster - I expect the paint will polish up really, really nice just like that.

I'm taking the Shimano shift levers. You'll get the Tange headset and Shimano 600 BB. I haven't had it open yet, full disclosure, but nothing tells me there's anything hinky. It's straight as an arrow. I'll follow up in a sec with close-ups on the less desirable spots.

And for the not-so-nice bits. This is why I'm pricing it where I am.

Oh and here is the Peugeot. But this is a 57, if I recall. I'm normally riding 58-59-60 but the last one I had in this size actually fit me with the correct stem and post. Looking to get $75+ship on this one. Has Swiss cups installed and the stock headset. Will include seat post binder. IIRC, takes a 25.4 seat post, note the factory tube reduction 2cm below seat tube opening.

I'll get it packed, weighed and run through ShipBikes and BikeFlights to see where we are. Should come in under $40, but everyone is saying shipping prices are going up.

Meanwhile, I have the address, you may want to edit your post to remove it
