7-9 Sufferfest Violator on the trainer. hard as hell but only 12.x miles, 64 sprints in an hour with shorter intervals as the workout progresses, rewarding but not fun Sufferlandrian holy water was pouring off me.
7-10 4.9 miles on the cx bike just to work the legs a bit.
7-11 don't know yet but will not be much.
7-12 STP 201+ miles is the goal at >17mph average, crazy I know, right.
Y'all have a great weekend if I don't have time to check in before Sunday. I'll be posting a ride report then.

My goal for this month is to ride my first ever [unsupported] century. I haven't decided when or where nor have I determined it to be a metric or imperial century yet.
7/6: 10 miles in 25 mph winds
MTD: 10 miles
Other than the century goal, I hope to cross the 200+ [outdoor] mile mark for the month of July, these thunderstorms aren't helping me any though.

7/12: 50 miles

Looking at the forecast I don't foresee many rides this week but up here in northeast the weather is known to be unpredictable.

Rode in my third "Tour of the California Alps" AKA Death Ride on Saturday. Like many, spent the night camping out on the side of the road, woke up early, and started pedaling in the dark @ 3:51 a.m. Highlights of the morning were seeing the long line of cyclist grinding up Monitor Pass under a great big full moon, the sunrise at Monitor Pass (8,314'), and the wicked fast descent down the other side. Mid-day had a little fun coming back through the hamlet of Markleeville. Lots of family and friends gather in town to cheer on the riders as they go by. Couple of young girls were holding out licorice whips. I grabbed the licorice, but unintentionally grabbed some of the kids fingers at the same time. Got the licorice OK, but as I rode away heard the girl telling her friend ... that guy almost took off my arm. Day ended with a long grind up Carson pass. The reward for a long day climbing was an ice cream at the top.
124 miles for the day with 14,600 ft of climbing and 11:32 of saddle time.
I've been focusing on mountain bike skills and racing this spring and did no training for this event. Longest ride this year has been 25 miles and two hours. Knees and my wonky shoulder are a little tender today.
Mileage so far this month, 255.

7/7 30 minutes on trainer
7/8 60 minutes on trainer, with 6x4 minutes hard
7/10 15.13 miles
7/13 71.77 miles
Today's ride was the Three Rivers Festival Tour in Fort Wayne. It was small but a really good event, and I had a nice little road trip.
Month-to-date 177.68 miles plus 3 hours 15 minutes on the trainer.

I'm at 300mi for the month and just under 600mi for the year. Training for the Michigan DalMac which is a gonna be a 4-day, 400mi bike tour at the end of August.
I currently weigh 245 and am trying to get down to 220. I've ridden an MTB exclusively for the last 15 years, the same bike actually all those years, I neutered the poor thing last month with a road saddle and cruiser tires. That has helped me keep up with the guys on road bikes that I'm training with, though. In a typical week I usually ride a couple fast 20-milers solo and a long ride of 50+ miles.
I'm buying a road bike (Felt) from my LBS and should be on it the end of this month.
This is is my first post, glad to have found this forum and finding a lot of good info.

I've hardly ridden at all between thunderstorms and work. Haven't bothered to update either.
Saturday after the 4th I was heading to a trail I've been wanting to ride but on my way decided it was too far to go that late and detoured to Cooks Forest. I also have been wanting to ride along the river there. I underestimated how many people would be there on 4th of July weekend and how dark it was underneath the tree overhang. I didn't feel comfortable without a rear light riding there so I just stopped and rode on a little gravel track that goes up to the firetower where you can climb and overlook the forest. I didn't walk up through to the firetower, just rode around the loop. It quite a milestone being the shortest ride I've taken yet, LOL. Just 3.3 miles while my first ever ride was 3.5 miles.
Not doing to good for a 150 mile goal. Wanted to ride yesterday but I couldn't see the neighbor's house the rain was coming down so hard. What a year for rain. Thank goodness the precipitation wasn't happening during the -32 winter. I fear for next winter though, might be pretty deep. Haven't had a lot of snow these past few years.

Perfect day for a ride yesterday and I overslept. Still managed to get in 50 miles, was tempted to push towards a metric century (62.5 miles) but after a few stops it was getting late.
7/12: 50 miles
MTD: 60 miles
Looking at the forecast I don't foresee many rides this week but up here in northeast the weather is known to be unpredictable.

I made it 2 1/2 miles before a monsoon opened up then 2 1/2 miles of pounding rain. Spent more time cleaning the bike than riding
5 miles 725' gain
Reckon I add 3 more of those laps to tomorrows workout.

Managed to get out after working a bit of overtime last night. Rode from home on the back country roads. 10 miles which is about an hour. It was getting dark and I don't have a tail light for when I get back to civilization and might see a car.
Lousy monthly number, but puts me breaking past the 500 mile mark for the year. 80 to go to pass last year. A coworker is a long distance rider (riding Pittsburgh to DC every year, this weekend riding an MS ride for 150) and keeps saying I'm going to pass him up. He's at 650 for the year and will be at 800 after this coming weekend. He doesn't ride often, but when he rides, they are always 30-50 miles unlike my trying for daily 10-15. I don't think I'll be catching him like he says.
