I got to ride the evil last weekend. When you first hop on it feels weird as your hands are way behind the front axle. Takes about 15 mins to get used to it but after that you forget about it. The bike is crazy planted though and weirdly enough it's quite nimble. It's kind of a weird feeling the bike is whippable when you want to but planted when you just wanna go straight.

Backpacks aren't cool tho... I wear one cuz I'm lazy and cheap. Maybe I AM cool!?!?
And no I wouldn't lock up my gravel bike outside.
But yes, it is good for crappy streets and the lack of dented rims is nice so far. But I've already pinch flatted in my first 100 miles. I know I need to go tubeless. But I'm lazy and cheap...

That’s not a hipster thing. I worked a few years ago with five different guys from around Chicago. They could not shut up about how each of their neighborhoods had the only authentic hot dog.

I was riding a gravel bike before it was a thing. I mean maybe it wasn't a real gravel bike, whatever that means. I went from trying to fit wide tires on a full on road bike, to a CX with more tire fit options and having fun on dirt roads, to now a gravel bike with even more tire options. I'm not sure anything is really kooky or hipster about it....well other that my gravel bike has a lauf fork which is probably controversial but I wouldn't call it the anit-flavor of the day! I've typically always ridden hybrids or odd bikes. I've never worn tight pants or jerseys. Never. Does that make me a hipster?
