A very nice ride down the Schuylkill River Trail, dawn patrol. Lovely cool air yesterday at 6:30am. No wind, overcast and charming. A few more trail users than I expected and I was clued in later - observed 4th of July holiday, most places closed. The Nishiki just glided along wanting more and more miles. Too many people, too many pods of MAMILs who think they own the whole trail though so I just did the planned 30 miles then back in the car. Excellent cardio.

A friend of mine moved 15 minutes away from me recently. He's happy to be closer to all the bike trails. I took the Gios and he rode his lynskey.
I was reminded why I dont track my miles on cellphone. I forgot to press start again after the 19 mile mark and 6 miles weren't recorded. So we rode ~39 miles. Hot day but very fun.

Last day in southern France today, before we head back to Holland. We got a taste of the famous Mistral wind, which wasn't too bad, as temperatures were pretty high.
Where else would you put a clock tower?
One condition I have that I blame on this forum is a garage door fetish. Couldn't resist putting my bike up against this one today.

Happy 4th! Rode 59 miles north of the city.
Been hot (90s) for days - sun was really beating down, even in the late morning hours.
Bucolic scene up near Telegraph Road.
Discovered a new fire pit/shelter. Had a nice break and tapped a kidney.
Back to the urban decay - tons of baby birds in all the nests.

Today was my riding buddy’s 63rd birthday (yes, born on the 4th of July), so naturally we needed to do a 63-mile ride. Some of it involved dirt.

Cape Cod Canal...
Took the 99% finished Bridgestone Altair out...Lot’sa people out and about.
On the way back home I rode in the boat launching line...the boat launch dick told me that I couldn’t ride there...
I asked why...he said it wasn’t allowed...it was “fer boat’n...“
Let me know when you get it!

Hercules waterfront, bay trail. Lots of development around a planned transit center.
Bike repair station with what looks like a vending machine for repair parts.

Two tunnels
An old railway track which as been paved by a cycling charity. There are two tunnels, one of which is over a mile long. It's cool but slightly spooky after a while. I get a bit worried someone will lock the gates at the other end.

Great time to explore college campuses. This is Lewis & Clark College in Portland. I Think I
rode by one other person. These are the terraced gardens of the original Lloyd Frank estate, and if you zoom in, you can see that it all points toward Mt Hood. Really beautiful. Would have probably had better visibility if it weren’t July 5th.

Near perfect riding condition today in the high Rockies about 70 with high pressure so a bit more air at high altitude. So I finally to ride up to the top of Beaver Creek road in Pike National Forrest about 10miles each way from Fairplay a pretty tough ride but nice ride one I can only really make in a afternoon when condition are nearly perfect.
The last mile or so is pretty much a ten story stair case to walk up but worth it.
To get above the tree line few for several minutes of open silence .
