Would the chain length be the same as a 10 speed ?
I have a Schwinn Super Sport SP 1982.

It's impossible to suggest the length from the info provided.
would need front and rear teeth counts, chainstay length and derailleur type at the least.
There are some ways to rough your way into the correct chain length. Looping the chain around the big - big combination, without the derailleur, is one way.

Number of speeds is irrelevant to chain length.
Wrap the chain around the largest ring & cog (don't run through RDER).
You want at least 1", but <2".

Just in case you somehow already have what is currently sold as a "10-speed" chain, it will not work on your 15-speed Schwinn.

Same length as the chain that is already on the bike.
Chains are sold with a standard number of links, The chain will then need to be shortened to match what you have on the bike. Chains get longer as they wear out, so easiest way to determine the length is to lay it out next to the old chain.
If the bike does not have a chain on it now, than you need to follow the directions of the park tool video
And like someone said you only count the cogs on the rear wheel when determining what chain "speed" you need. Your Schwinn will need the cheaper 5-8 speed chains.

After you size the chain, turning the cranks by hand, shift slowly and gently into the large chainring and large cog combination to be certain that the chain is long enough to not strain anything during the shift.

Used the Sram 830 chain today !!
Fits perfect !!!
No links taken out!!!!
