Dang, i usually skip past the ads for Treks with four-digit model numbers, esp anything mentioning carbon. This one's.... unique.

BTW, no brifters, just some (probably 105) aeros. And the cable tension stop for the barcons is a band just above the old downtubers. Obviously no brazed-on stop to keep the band from slipping, so no doubt they had to reef it down onto that carbon tube real tight. Quite the "retrofit"....

IIRC 2100s and 2120s (same bike, just equipped with a triple crank out of the shop) were fairly popular, and I still see a few of them around, but yeah. Aluminum lugged/glued carbon frames are one of those things you just don't see anymore, which is why I kind of want one.

The "Scott" sticker turned this old gasipe Fuji into solid aluminum! Add another sticker and it'll turn into carbon fiber!

May not have had to clamp it very tight at all if they used the down tube levers as the stop to keep it from slipping.

There is a pervasive myth in cycling that says aluminum is inherently stiff. Compared with other materials in common use, it is less stiff. The myth comes from the fact that early aluminum bikes were made with tubes so large that the bikes were stiff, thanks to the dimensions. But when one component is steel and the other is aluminum and they are of the same dimensions, the steel one will be stiffer by far.

This seller should be beaten, tarred and feathered, and have his balls nailed to a stump and pushed over backwards.

Even if the front of the triangle was trashed in a crash? If these were any old frames, I'd doubt that the seller cared about cycling. That these brands are involved indicates they know enough to appropriately assign a value to the frames, as received.

Looks like a gen-you-wine Fuji Track, so unlikely to be gaspipe but certainly steel.

I had a Cannondale road bike that was so stiff that when riding it it felt as if Mohammed Ali was punching me in my kidneys. I got rid of that bike. A friend had am Alan aluminium frame bike with separate left and right aero bars and he found the bike so flexible he could hardly maintain control of it. It depends on tubing diameter and other things.

Cheers

Suuuuuurrrre, based on a single low-res photo, I'll electronically pay you some amount for which you don't even have a ball park, before I can see if the thing even exists.....

Pop quiz - which is more pathetic:
(A) He really thinks someone would fall for such a scam, or
(B) It's actually legit, and in this day and age, he really thinks someone will NOT laugh it off as a pathetic attempt at a scam

Schwinn Network 1

I'm getting a new bike and (obviously) don't need this one anymore.

Selling "as is" and with everything you see in the photo, so make me an offer and we'll go from there.

Once we agree on the price, PayPal/Venmo me the amount and I'll then give you the address and time when you can pick it up. Key for the lock will be on the bike seat.
