Love this Farrar Quote:

“He did a classic Lloyd Mondory move,” Farrar told Cyclingnews as he dragged his own damaged bike to the team bus. “He decided to try and commit suicide into my back wheel with 300 meters to go when I was with Petacchi and Renshaw.”

Who would allow an unleashed dog that close to the TDF riders?

Imagine if a few big names would have crashed out of the race (instead of minor cuts & scrapes). You train all year for the Superbowl of cycling only to be taking out by a loose dog.

According to cyclingnews Cav got into it with Jeremy Hunt from Cervelo. When they showed Cav limping to the finish he was smiling, which he wouldn't be doing if somebody took HIM out.

Owner of said dog should be subject to a public flogging in the town square at high noon.

This should not be allowed to happen but it does almost every year. I'm not sure what can be done to stop it.

If this was a stadium event and a fan interfered with play, they would be arrested and fined.

Yes. Watched it several times...it's like he never started his turn. Maybe something happened before that got him off balance but he did look a little sheepish (if that's possible for Cav) when the camera caught up to him and he just smiled and shrugged.

Looks like Cav misses the apex and is up to his old habits of riding diagonally through the field, this time in a corner, taking out himself, Oscar , and a few others.

What I want to know is who was that guy in a mountain bike on the MUP hauling arz at the same speed as the breakaway riders while carrying what it looked like a 3-4 y.o. Kid behind him, which by the way, must have been burning that crank at >110 RPM as if it was nothing. Very impressed!!

Can't wait for it to be on YouTube!!

It almost looked intentional or someone had no idea they were about to take a right turn

Definitely Cavendish was unable to make the turn. Not clear why, but he took out a few riders along with his chances for a stage win. It will be interesting to see who suffers lingering issues from all those crashes and impacts the their teams and GC hopes as we move to the later stages.

That was very cool. The little squirt had excellent form. Kept his heels down. Friggin' euros are fast as hell.

Unlike Cavendish, it appears...

difficult to understand what happened there, didn't seem to be mechanical (he got back on and rode to the finish) and it certainly wasn't deliberate, he was 2km from the line. Maybe a change of surface, or something?

And Belgians are cycling crazy. Even the three leaders in the breakaway group were looking at the guy towing the child, obviously thought it was great.

Having lived and raced there, yes that's right. Watching eight year olds riding double pace lines to school each morning...
