- you look out the office window and smile when it starts raining just before your commute home.
- you start looking around for more stuff to carry back and forth in your pannier bags.
- your friends all think you're crazy, and want to take out life insurance policies on you.

- you look forward to buying groceries because you get to load up the panniers
- you're bummed on the days you have to go to the client's site because it means driving
- you hate Thursdays because you have to move your car to the other side of the road for street cleaning (where it will rest until the following Thursday)

-The highlight of your day is passing a spandexed up guy on a cervelo with your beat up rusty commuter while wearing dress shoes, carrying a back pack, a lock, groceries, those girl scout cookies you ordered from your co-worker, and a big grin.

-A friend offers to let you use their car while you're housesitting and you reply (with genuine curiosity), "Why would I need your car?"

Couldn't see that these had been mentioned, so:
- you wipe down and dry off your bike BEFORE you dry yourself off after cycling through a precipitation event.
- to passersby, it appears that you bring your laundry to work on precipitation event days.

You vary your route in the summer based on the time of day and day of the week so you can run through the most sprinklers on the way to/from work.

you debate the lumens of a bike blinkie and it's power usage

- you take a seat in the coffee shop with your back to the wall to hide the sweat spot from your backpack
- then switch to the other side of the table when you're dry so you can watch/admire your bike out the window

It's the middle of August, 95° outside, and you spend your lunch hour on-line shopping for winter shoes, lobster claw gloves, and studded tires.

I bought my first set of nokians hile i lived in kansas, and have kept a pair ever since.

I only have 1 bike have always had just the one. keep thinking about a different one tho.......

I wear a gel, JC Crew, I think, and even when my hair gets a little long from my usually short haircut, I find I can easily comb out the helmet ridges and appear pretty presentable (IMO).

Getting to your meeting 15 min. early, you realize that you have just the right amount of time to clean up, catch your breath and calmly walk to your meeting.

In other words, you are nuts. As I seem to have become lately, having experienced all the above.

This gorgeous young lady at the office (I've been trying to get her to go on a date with me for a year now) walks up, smiles and announced, "I had to move your bike to get to the supply locker.". Unthinkingly, I angerly respond, "WHAT! You touched my bike?" She quickly hurries off. Guess that completely blows any slight chance I may have had.

Dang, man...
That sucks...
Go apologize too her and maybe ask her out for a cup of coffee or something to make up for over-reacting (cause you feel horrible about it... RIGHT?)

-you lock your bike up on the other side of campus so you can actually walk to class. Because the first half of the semester you've ridden between class, home, work, downtown, and rarely walk anymore.

-you fly to visit your parents over 800mi. away, and all your old friends ask how you got there. Did you ride?

-you get pissed that all the bikes at your parent's house are in disrepair and the airlines wouldn't let you bring your tools with you; feeling forced to drive, like all the transportation gods are against your cycling habits.

-you become frustrated when friends come to you and ask about finding them a really good bike to start commuting when their budget is less than 200$ and their first pick is a 'road-looking' bike from Xmart.

-We need a new forum for student commuters. Our budgets are ridiculously low.

Every bike you own has a pannier rack and lights.
