Who is going to do an Ironman next year? I am thinking about doing IM florida.

I would love to, but with young kids it's just not a realistic goal. I could conceivably be in shape for a Half-IM, but a full is such a quantum leap beyond that.
Please post on your training and racing, though. I love to read about the Agony and the Ecstacy.

Me and my friends plan to do one, well a 1/2 ironman first, in 2-3 years.

Not me unfortunately. Planning just sprint, olympic and Duathlons next Winter instead.
I missed out on qualifying for Kona by a little over 3 minutes at NZIM in 2003... Given I can't afford to go to Kona if I did qualify due to house renovations currently underway (I have gone up an age division so would be highly likely) It would be too upsetting to finally qualify for the big dance but not be able to go!
