A definate "you have to be a clyde story"
It is a few years back, and I was standing talking to a mate on the pavement behind a pub, on a nice very hot summers day.
Both me and my mate were around the 300lbs range at the time.
Anyway a car mounts the pavement and comes heading towards us.
My mate jumps out of the way.
I jumped up, my butt landed centre of the bonnet and as it had one of these "crumple" zones it crumpled.
My delicate weight caused the air filer to fragment under the bonnet.
The car stopped, it was another mate who was now fuming that his mothers "small" car now had a "clyde" butt impression on the bonnet. I am not sure what other damage was done but the car wouldnt start.
I am not sure if there is a moral to the story or if it is just one of those things I was lucky with not to be hurt, but it caused mirth in our local pub for months.
Perhaps I should have a warning sign of beware of low flying highlanders....

turn the triangle the other way up so the highlander doesnt look like a shuttle cock (the thing you hit when playing badminton)

I dont know personally what was funnier - what happened or what happened next, as he sulked for about 3 months, and as he was 26 his mum wouldnt let him borrow the car again once he had it fixed.......

I smashed into a concrete post while looking to my side. I was knocked off but unharmed. Got back on the bike and rode to work. It was only later that I noticed the bike felt oddly shorter. I examined it, and the force of the impact had shortened the frame by an inch! It was a miracle it didn't snap in half under me.

at least that one had a funny ending....
eight years ago, 1 week after buying a van (large family), we were driving to the north side, and some old alky tried to cross the street in front of us. i locked 'em up, he stopped on the centerline, then ran right into my hood. thankfully he wasn't hurt, even refused medical attention (he bounced and flew about fifteen feet, landed just off the curb next to a tree), but my hood never opened the same again. it's amazing how resilient the body is when relaxed.
