Today I got my AC/furnace filter problem fixed w/o a lot of drama. The HVAC guy admitted they screwed up and installed it backwards, and I was helpful in accepting a simple modification that allowed fliter to be reversed w/o completely removing and reinstalling the whole fan/furnace/coil assembly, which would have been a total pita. I also provided him with tools he needed, because his were in another company truck. In appreciation for my cooperation, he did this work and a fall system checkup for zero charge. He also gave a neat ballpoint pen with a built-in light. When he saw all the bikes in my garage, he was beyond amazed.

I love the wet months. We haven't been that wet yet, just a medium mist this morning.

Actually, I was testing the Topeak Joe Blow Sport II pump to see if it could get to its rated 160 psi maximum pressure. That's an old worn out Continental Sonderklasse track racing tubular tire that is rated for 170 psi, and had routinely in the past been inflated and raced at 160 psi. It has been sitting in the heat and humidity of my garage for several years, and I suspect that the cotton casing has rotted. The blowout didn't occur immediately, but many hours later, and startled me when it happened, as it sounded like an explosion. I now keep all my high end tubular tires indoors to protect them from the elements.

Today I weighed my TK2 at the shop. With Garmin EDGE 810 + Barfly mount, Cygolite Metro 400 mount, and Cygolite Hotshot SL taillight and mount, 16 lbs 15 ounces. Considering trying to weight weenie it down to the high 14's.

Polished up my new (to me) Phil BB. I told myself I'd wait till the dead of winter to install it. Doubtful that will happen.

Now I just need one of those little "Phil Equipped" stickers. Imma need one of their headsets when they become available.

Eight. Old enough to have seen BTTF in the theatre. Cool, but Turbo/Kraftwerk > Marty/Huey Lewis any day.

Once I knew I was going to stay put for a few years, I bought a house, and now that the mortgage is paid off I can easily afford to live on just social security and a small annuity pension. The only reason to rent IMO is if you are constantly moving or have a minimum wage job or live in Socal.
