VISP lives !

I thought that these beasts had died, but apparently some Aussie on eBay is hawking them still for a ridiculously high price. Mine cost $121, including shipping.

Visp Track Fixed Bicycle Frame | eBay

They are very heavy due to the straight gauge aluminum tubing and the aluminum fork with a steel steerer tube. Swapping all the parts from mine to my Dolan Pre Cursa knocked a solid pound off it's weight. This is what mine last looked like, before I tore it down.

Speaking of Chinacarbon, a customer brought an 80mm deep rim into the shop today to see about getting it laced to something that had a valve hole drilled in a different spot on the outside than on the inside. Oooooops!

Did Visp used to have a different logo that was very poorly kerned? I feel like there is some low end, thick tubed aluminum track bike that has a logo where the it looks like it was typeset by a 3 year old but can't seem to find an example on the google.

Is there anything you can do to fix that? Can you drill a new inner valve hole?

That's what I did (with the customer's consent, of course).
