Not the best area to do anything but Disney. Do Disney. You got Knotts not too far away.

If you have a car...drive to Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Long Beach (get the Beach theme here), or San Clemente (let me know - I'll buy you lunch).

No car - You can take the Amtrak to San Diego and hang out - but the time thing.

Places to eat?
Well for me me - Ethiopian food (have not tried the Anaheim place, but I can suggest good places in LA), very authentic Vietnamese food, some of the better Baja Mexican in the country. You need to give us more information.

No car but I've got Uber. Staying across the way from Disneyland's downtown Disney entrance. The class ends at 4 and I've got some reading / work to do at home.

I'll look around for an Ethiopian place. Haven't had that in quite a while.

There is Disney for the kids, which includes Disney activities after the park closes, and there is another side. One that caters to adults. Specifically ones overloaded on fairy tale castles and children. In fact they sell this side quite heavily nowadays.

Going to Disney (world) in two weeks. We love it. Flying our son down from college for a long weekend. Mainly going for the food and wine fest, but we love the restaurants.

I saw my first masters doper in socal. Sprinting down katella drive in front of Disney on his 2 sizes too small red and white ktm frame with too many sponsors logos looking jacked as ****. California has its reputation to uphold in my eyes, remember.

This is all me be sarcastic if you can't tell. Although I did actually see a very fit looking old dude sprinting in traffic.

To be riding there, youth or roids would help. I road for 6 years up Harbor from Newport Beach and finished a couple miles before Disney @ the 22.

Only saw him for maybe a second, but yes, in my memory. Also he was probably on a campy groupset because his downshifts were really loud. But that is based on inference, not sight.

We went up to vermont over the weekend with the hopes of checking out the foliage. Turns out it's not too colorful due to recent weather. We did drive up mt equinox and it was a lovely view. Hard to get too upset when we have a 3hr drive versus people at our hotel who came from Japan and Argentina to see the leaves. Maybe I can convince my wife to come up so I can do either KSR or GMSR next year.

Met our son in the daks and then I raced in waitsfield. Was amazed at how little color. It's usually peak at our place. He said there was more color further north when he drove back to school. Hope to see some color driving north to Maine this week.

Posts like that make me really contest how much I appreciate you being back. I need to get back out East during Fall colors.

There was an overnight dropping of leaves a couple weeks ago that clogged gutters and made raking a necessity. 98% of the trees are still green or at the beginning stages of changing. We are supposed to have a hard Winter so I'm wondering after the chance of getting an early season blizzard with leaves still on the trees. 100 F last week turned to 48 F this week.

Highly probable you underestimate how good a trip to the Daks sounded at that moment. Brief bout of SAD or more likely looking out the window and seeing a completely flat horizon.

I suppose though, everyone else being so distracted by work and family committments your presence could be threatened. I'd have to take stock of how spry the other retirees are before assigning you as the primary threat to my survival.

In the interest of transparency the wife and I head to Bar Harbor for a week on Wednesday, and then she comes back to work for a very few days before we head to Disney for a week.

Was that actually you? lol? Don't take any of the doping comments seriously!

Even though I probably saw an old dude that was beyond normally jacked when I was out running today. Walking with a crazy limp and his body had all the wrong proportions. Maybe I've found la's drug problem. It's not what you expect but it is dangerous to the body

Just a joke, I never ride that far south. I'm also not jacked but non-cyclists tell me I look pretty good "for my age".

I've been invited to a wedding next month. I went online this afternoon to look at their registry. The website was having any issue, and said it couldn't pull up the registry I wanted, BUT, it then pulled up a list of other wedding registries I "might be interested in."

Why would i be interested in a random list of registries?
