Any Saturday works. I work Sundays, unfortunately.
You should join us. If it's too 'hardman' for you (which I seriously doubt - that does not sound like us) you can always bail and head home.

I sold the MTB last year. I just didn't enjoy the off-road/trail with fat tires stuff as much as I enjoy the pavement with skinny tires stuff. Different strokes for different folks

Throw out an idea.
Centennial trail is good for me, but Seattle area might work too. Mount Vernon-Conway-Fir Island is a flat scenic classic. The area around Everson-Lynden is a little known cycling paradise. Sundays best for me.

Good thing the ride wasn’t scheduled for Sep15 = rainy all TODAY.
Accuweather for Issaquah shows a dry 21&22 Sep.

The pic below is where the easy ride on Saturday starts. Parking aplenty.
Cedar River Trail from this spot is a couple of miles of flat then a steady false flat rise up to Hwy18. Paved for 10 miles. Hard packed trail (optional) for a few miles past the paved. Return the same route.

Sunday the ride ride starts at Marymoor Park, Velodrome parking area. If that space is otherwise occupied park in a close spot, I will be closer to the the East side entrance (closer to East Lake Sammamsh Rd). But MEET AT THE VELODROME PARKING LOT ON YOUR BIKE. Tentatively, arrive between 10:00 - 10:15 for a departure not later than 10:25.

Rain cancels, but I run fendered for wet roads if the rain has stopped.
East Lake Sammamish Rd gets any sunshine that may exist.

Henry Moses pool & slides, just off Maple Valley Hwy, Renton.

I park just to be left of his pic, next to the grass fields.

I will be there. Maybe with this, if it looks like the ground will be wet:

Or my fixie? Then maybe they'll let be take a few hot laps around the velodrome this time.

Sunday (Saturday, too) is looking good weather-wise. Supposed to hit a high of 68 and should be dry. Fingers crossed, 'cause I'm bringing the Bianchi.

@SurferRosa: wanna ride to Marymoor together? Or are you gonna take the bridge (always assuming you're riding, that is)?

See y'all at the velodrome parking lot at 1000 Sunday

I have to say, some of the off-road stuff I did had some pretty scenery to go along with it, so I don't mind going off the beaten path and getting some gravel under my wheels from time to time. I just don't enjoy it as much, and honestly don't like beating my stuff up if I don't have to.

I decided this summer that until I come up with a decision regarding a final finish that is both interesting and durable, the Casati will get the call when I do a little gravel grinding. With that in mind, before winter arrives I plan on taking it up the Iron Horse Trail.

I failed to specify that I find road bikes to be prettier than MTBs always. Obviously views vary in scenic value, but I will always prefer a road/touring/track bike aesthetic to mountain.

I guess it's a good thing my daughter has a softball tourney this weekend in the Yakima area. Otherwise I'd be tempted to come over and get embarrassed by all of you thanks to the drastically out of shape condition I'm in. Changing job, chasing kids and moving to a new house will take any hint of time for riding away. I need to make time for the trainer at a bare minimum

Wow, indeed! That is a big place to move away from! Must be a story there.

But seriously, Scott, we're talking maybe 25 miles of dead flat, mostly. A guy like you could do this with one leg tied behind your back; a couple years after you died.

Yep, last two kids will be gone in 3 yrs so we're downsizing some and moving closer to town. With the condition of my low back the maintenance on this place is just too much. Moving to a flat 3 acres where all I have to do is mow it. Just need to build a shop for all the bikes. They'll be in a storage unit for awhile. Just need to decide which one will be the "daily" rider.

Yes, Tim, I could do it for sure. 20-25 miles is my normal ride distance here. But, at 10:00 on Sunday I will be at a softball field with my daughter.

Apologies; I didn't mean to lecture. But the "I'm not trained up" excuse does't work for this ride. Not for a hill-eating beast like you. I understand it's more a matter of pressing engagements.

Shoot, it wasn't a lecture Tim. Actually thought the "after your dead" comment was kind of funny since you accused me of trying to kill you guys on the Tour de Palouse.

Can we find a rain date for sunday's ride? Like next week?

Maybe the forecast will change, but it's not looking so good...

As stated before:
Rain-out date for the Sunday (22nd) ride from Marymoor Park Velodrome is the following Sunday the 29th Sep. at (tentatively 10AM), same start location.

On Saturday (tomorrow) i'll be at the Henry Moses Aquatic Center no later than 10:15 for a Cedar River Trail ride to start by 10:30. See pic above.

Since it looks wet on sunday, I'm gonna try to catch a 32 minute light rail from UW to Rainier Beach station mañana. That's "tomorrow" in el Españolé. "La playa" is the beach. Pixies taught me that.

Vamos!
