Congratulations.
I am a little confused, did you just acquire the property or did you have it and just replaced the roof and electrical service?
Either way, looks great!

Just purchased it.
We have been stashing money away in the hopes of finding a place that was affordable as paying rent sux.
In this screwed up economic mess we were almost resigned to be renters for the rest of our lives....And then this popped up on C-list. We drove out today, looked for a little bit and bought it. We figure after living in Boulder, the Bay Area and Tucson for the last 22 years (and trying to deal with THAT cost of living) that this was to nice to pass up.

Gawd no rent....no house payments...Taxes that are less than the cost of a tank of gas...plus we are Deadheads....for us its just too perfect!

The online mail order service. Great selection, website, service. They bring the discs to the mailbox in like one day. We like it. And we can go to the local store and swap a mail delivered DVD for one in the store anytime. Very convenient.

We get our money's worth. $20, and we're good for 6-8 rentals each month. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but it works out to less than any other way to rent movies.

Dang, what a steal. I have to say, the house itself looks pretty crappy (new roof aside), but for the savings you can get some nice furnishings to make it feel homey, clean it up over time, and when you've saved enough up, rebuild from scratch if you desire.

And to think that I'd be happy to pay 10 times as much for an empty lot less than half as big in my area, but even that isn't realistic.

the dogs belong to the lady we bought it from.
No its by far not perfect,But it is solid and sturdy tho the pics don't show it. And if it stood for only 10 thats $750 a year....around here one can get a Nice Modular home for less than $20,000 so adding ALL that up it still comes in WAY under the cost of a crappy garage in a really ****** neighborhood in the Bay Area!! (East Oakland comes to mind)

Considering the economic problems that are plaguing a lot of folk,I am fortunate to be able to get a place when SOOOOOOOOOO Many people are being forced to "Moonwalk" away from their mortgages,or being foreclosed on or in many cases are horribly "Underwater" on their house values....Being able to find a place that is in livable shape,at that price,in a place that is not full of Tweakers,Rockmonsters,Junkies,Hookers,Cops,Creeps and Crooks or that looks like Dresden after WW II may very well be a good thing

Thanks,We think so too!
Mt Biking in the Flint Hills to our west...Mini touring on roads like the one pictured...River Conoeing and Kayaking just a couple miles from the house, monthly bills less than the monthly payment on a fair used car, heck life could be and has been MUCH Worse!

This is awesome. Not too many people can say that own their own home.

And even if it does not (to some people) look up to their standards at least you can put money toward turning it into something your dreams are made of.

I think it's a beautiful house, and it's going to be a lovely home. I'm sure with your enthusiasm and your ideas it's going to be perfect for you and your family.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing this wonderful news. This is really great to hear.

That's a perfect place for some chickens! Get a couple, make sure your dog doesn't eat them, and you have free fresh eggs for life! We have about 20 chickens and get about 12/day during the good months. I would guess it averages to about 3-4 per day.

If it's Timber approved, then the final requirement had been made!

Congrats!
