Interesting notes about the coastline in Oregon is that it is public land and prior to the 101 / Pacific Coast highway, it WAS the road that took one up and down the coast.

From the OSU archives...

These are just growing all over the place along a main road in my town. I don't know if someone planted them or if they're wild.

And a macro of an unrelated flower:

I was just thinking about a bike trip up the coast. (This kind of bike) As much as I love the desert, I feel trapped in the summer time.

Thanks Igo! I was about to comment on your wonderful shots as well. Those really make me want a motorcycle! Seems like the perfect vehicle for cruising along the coast.

Getting closer to having all the bugs hammered out of my Shoemaker sensitizer.

The Moon, printed in meteorite, and exposed with the sun.

And this was from a thunderstorm the other day.

Will need to upload that... was a Jaguar Mk2 that looked like it was on it's way to California as it was trailered.

Playing with a $7 reverse ring adapter. Sadly, my old cheap tripod makes it madly impossible to get things in focus. I have an old 28-85 Chinon that was mostly broken when one of my daughters borrowed it for High School. Since it had no other purpose, I thought I would try it. But it has lens creep.

Great shot ArkansasGal - how did you persuade it to land on a matching flower?. Another macrobeetle here, taken the other day at Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario.
