Reacto 300 Size 54 or 56?

Reacto 300 Size 54 or 56?
Hi guys. Pretty much need your help/opinions on this xD
I'm (much likely) buying a new road bike soon. It'll be Merida Reacto 300/400.
However, I'm not sure about what frame size should I pick. I'm 184cm tall, inseam 88cm, and long arms, 76cm.
According to my height, size 54 is recommended, however my current bike (not calling it a "proper" road bike...) is size 60 and I feel pretty comfortable riding it!

Would size 56 make a big difference, would I be too stretched out??

Since you still have your 'current' bike and are comfortable on it, I would measure it and select the size with the closest effective top tube. That will be a good starting point to fine tune the fit on the new bike.
For what it's worth, I'm your height with same inseam and longish arms. On bikes with a level top, my best size is 60cm with a top tube measurement between 57.5 - 58.5cm. But I am comfortable on most frames 59 to 62cm. Stem lengths are typically 110mm - 120mm.
How's your flexibility? If you can easily touch your toes, i would suggest a head tube length around 18cm.
edit: looking at the Merida site, i would suggest the size 56 not 54. If you can test ride even give the 59cm bike a spin.

Go by the top tube length. And stack and reach A Merida 54 is what most others would call a 56.
At 5 ft 9 inches, the 52cm Reacto 4000 gives me a pretty low and aggressive position, which may not be what you want.
Bigger frame will have longer head tube so that handlebars can be higher. As long as top tube is not too long for you. Compare the Merida head tube lengths from the chart with those of bikes that fit you correctly
Save up for the CF2 carbon frame if you possibly can. It rides like a dream.
