That's true; but you probably wouldn't mention it if I was on a newer full-suspension enduro/all mtn bike with long/low/slack with geo similar to my rigid long wheelbase bike. Especially considering BB height on those frames is measured unloaded and drops as soon as you swing a leg over, and I implore you to find one of those bikes with 165mm cranks like mine, they're all running 170-175mm cranks.

It is a moot point in the sense that the bike isn't being replaced or going anywhere, just the pedals in the near future... they're getting replaced either way and if I can get some which buy me a little more clearance for $ I was going to spend anyway, then terrific!

Yeah, I was going to say that your bike is short my modern MTB standards.
