Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

That's going to be awesome for a single speed. Ride anything.

Making your bike SS is cheap and simple, because the bike is really a single speed at heart.

When those Dragons came out🤩 they caught my eye. But I know that the trend is in the other direction. Ignore treands. You are on the right bike as far as i'm concerned,
I bought it specifically with SS in mind, and as you can see my trails are sandy. Those 26+ tires at 18psi make it feel like dirt. Tons of traction, that trail is so much more fun to rip on with this bike.

I used such a short bar for a couple of reasons. #1 . was because it's a cut-down drop handlebar and I had to cut the bar where I did as that was the only place that had a small enough radius of curve to get the bar through that particular stem. #2 . Was because I wanted to see how such a short handlebar performed in actual use. I saw videos posted on YouTube of bicycles with similarly short bars and thought I'd like to try it for fun.

The thing is that the bike is quite comfortable to ride and excels at getting through pretty tight places. The roller-cam brake under the chainstays is another weird thing on that bicycle but it works surprisingly well.

Cheers
